Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure relate to a multi-mode power amplifier system. A second power amplifier is configured to be active in the first mode such that the first power amplifier and the second power amplifier are concurrently active in the first mode. A switch can electrically connect the output of the first power amplifier to different radio frequency signal path in the first mode than in the second mode. Abstract: Configurable filters for asymmetrical radio frequency communication are disclosed. In one aspect, a radio frequency module includes a first filter configured to band-pass frequencies for a first transmit sub-band of a first communication band, a second filter configured to band-pass frequencies for a second transmit sub-band of the first communication band, and a third filter configured to band-pass frequencies for a receive band of the first communication band. The radio frequency module further includes an antenna terminal and at least one antenna switch module configured to connect the third filter and one of the first and second filters to the antenna terminal.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for envelope trackers are disclosed herein. In certain configurations, a mobile device includes a power amplifier configured to amplify a radio frequency (RF) input signal to generate an RF output signal. The power amplifier is configured to receive power from a power amplifier supply voltage. The mobile device further includes a voltage converter configured to convert a battery voltage into a regulated voltage, and the voltage converter is configured to control a magnitude of the regulated voltage based on an error signal. The mobile device further includes an error amplifier configured to generate an output current based on an envelope of the RF input signal and to generate the power amplifier supply voltage by adjusting the magnitude of the regulated voltage using the output current. The error amplifier is further configured to control the error signal.

Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure relate to a front end architecture for selectively adding an external carrier aggregation band. A switch element can connect a radio frequency signal path to an antenna path through a frequency domain multiplexer, such as a diplexer, in a first mode. The switch element can connect the radio frequency path to the antenna path and bypass the frequency domain multiplexer in a second mode. The frequency domain multiplexer can be external to a front end module that include the radio frequency signal path. In the first mode, a front end system can support carrier aggregation with a band associated with circuitry implemented external to the front end module.
