Abstract:
A monitoring system detects and mitigates traffic risks among a group of vehicles. The group of vehicles includes a ground-based vehicle (GBV), e.g. an automotive vehicle, and an air-based vehicle (ABV), e.g. a drone, which is operated to track a ground-based object (GBO), e.g. an unprotected road user or an animal. The monitoring system performs a method comprising: obtaining (301) predicted navigation data for the ground-based vehicle and the air-based vehicle, processing (302) the predicted navigation data to obtain one or more future locations of the ground based-object and to detect an upcoming spatial proximity between the ground-based object and the ground-based vehicle, and causing (305), upon detection of the upcoming spatial proximity, an alert signal to be provided to at least one of the ground-based object and the ground-based vehicle.
Abstract:
Operating a display of a user equipment. The present invention relates to a method for operating a display (2) of a user equipment (1). The display (2) is configured to display an object (50). A permission is assigned to the object (50), which defines an allowance for a person (11-13) to view the object (50). According to the method, a gaze position (63) of a person (12) looking at the display (2) is determined, which defines a position on the display (2) at which the person (12) is looking. A distance between the gaze position (63) and a position of the object (50) is determined and furthermore, it is determined, if the person (12) is allowed to view the object based on the permission assigned to the object (50). If the person (12) is not allowed to view the object (50), the object (50) is concealed depending on the determined distance between the gaze position (63) and the position of the object (50).
Abstract:
A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium having instructions to analyze a characteristic of an ultrasonic signal that propagated on a face of a user of the computational device and effected by an on-body touch, by the user, in an area in which the ultrasonic signal has propagated, wherein the characteristic includes at least one of facial expression or contraction state of a facial muscle; select an input based on an analysis of the ultrasound event; and perform an action specified by the input.
Abstract:
According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method implemented by a computing device is disclosed. Images from a sequence of images that depicts a scene are displayed on an electronic display. User input is received that selects an image from the sequence to be used as a base image. User input is also received that selects an object from the sequence of images. A movement trajectory of the selected object is determined from the sequence of images. The selected object is repositioned based on user input that drags the selected object along the determined movement trajectory from an initial position to a new position. A new image is created by combining the base image and the repositioned object.
Abstract:
A lifelog camera is configured to capture a digital image without user input that commands the capturing of the digital image. The lifelog camera includes a control circuit configured to detect a state transition in a signal from a sensor, the state transition indicative of a change in user activity; a camera module that captures the digital image under the control of the control circuit in response to the detection of the state transition; and a memory in which the digital image is stored.
Abstract:
A computing device may be configured to authenticate a user for access control, and may include at least one ground electrode configured for contact with a user, an impedance sensor coupled to the least one ground electrode, where the impedance sensor may be configured to perform a measurement based on a touch input from the user, a memory which stores instructions, and a processor, coupled the impedance sensor and the memory, where the processor may be configured to execute the instructions. The instructions may cause the processor to: receive the touch input from the user, receive an impedance value based on the touch input measured by the impedance sensor, and determine whether the received impedance value corresponds to at least one stored impedance value associated with a user profile.
Abstract:
A system and method include determining predicted emotional events associated with an emotional response by a subject; forming a timeline based on the predicted emotional events; and acquiring image data associated with the subject to be acquired based on the timeline. Determining the predicted emotional events may include identifying emotional images, identifying prior emotional events associated with the emotional images, and determining the predicted emotional events based on the prior emotional events. Determining the predicted emotional events based on the prior emotional events may include: identifying digital content associated with a prior emotional event, determining an attribute of the digital content, identifying other digital content associated with the attribute, and determining the predicted emotional events based on the other digital content.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method, performed in a Body Area Network (BAN) enabled media experience device for enabling transmission of a media experience according to a stored, predefined user configuration associated with an identification data, userID, of a BAN enabled communication device, the method comprising: establishing a connection between the BAN enabled media experience device and the BAN enabled communication device by using BAN; retrieving the identification data, userID, of the BAN enabled communication device; retrieving the stored, predefined user configuration associated with the userID of the BAN enabled communication device; and initiating transmission of the media experience by the BAN enabled media experience device according to the stored, predefined user configuration.
Abstract:
Methods of antenna selection in a wireless electronic device are provided. The methods include detecting movement of the wireless electronic device (a first wireless electronic device). The methods include selecting an antenna, among a plurality of antennas of the first wireless electronic device, in response to the movement of the first wireless electronic device. Moreover, the methods include measuring a positioning-related characteristic of a signal from a second wireless electronic device, using the antenna that was selected in response to the movement. Related wireless electronic devices are also provided.
