摘要： A biometric authentication device has high security by preventing intra-device information from being falsified and stolen by a third party. A biometric authentication device includes a biometric information storage module, a biometric information authenticating module for individual authentication, a mutual authentication module with the terminal, a registration counter corresponding to the mutual authentication, an authentication counter corresponding to the biometric authentication, a stoppage flag set when the value of the counter is larger than a predetermined value, and authentication control module for preventing the module from operating depending on the stoppage flag.

The biometric authentication device includes a biometric information storage module performing mutual authentication with an electronic device by use of a common key, acquiring biometric information from the electronic device when validity is mutually authenticated and storing the biometric information in a biometric information storage module, and a biometric information authenticating module effecting the authentication with the electronic device by use of the public key, and authenticating, when the validity is authenticated, the biometric information stored in the biometric information storage module and the present biometric information.

An image capture device is caused to perform a plurality of image capture operations (including distance measurement) at short intervals. And when image capture NG occurs frequently, a control unit stacks the NG results, and if image capture NGs are not resolved even after a prescribed number of image capture operations, judges that the relation between the body part and the image capture device must be corrected, analyzes the stacked image capture NG causes, and displays a guidance screen on a display device according to the analysis result.
