    摘要: A system and method for automatically directing a communication antenna to point to a desired wireless communication transceiver, is presented herein. The system includes a position location receiver, which receives signals indicating the position location information of the antenna and a position location transmitter and a processing mechanism, which determines calibration information of the antenna. The calibration information is achieved by first establishing a reference vector between the location of the antenna and position location transmitter and establishing a vector reference space and then calculate the necessary elevation and azimuthal components, within the vector reference space, to identify the proper calibration of the antenna. Once the calibration information has been determined, an alignment mechanism automatically orients the antenna. The alignment mechanism then automatically directs the oriented antenna to point to the wireless transceiver, based on the directional location information of the wireless transceiver.

    摘要: One feature includes a mobile device being used as a mobile beacon and proxy for a tracking device that may track an object, such as a pet. The mobile device may act as a beacon that transmits messages over a short range communications link to the tracking device. If the tracking device fails to receive the messages transmitted by the mobile device, it may be assumed that the pet has gone missing, and in response the tracking device may contact a tracking server with its location information via a wireless wide area network (WWAN). Additionally, the mobile device may act as a proxy of the tracking device by transmitting and receiving data to/from the tracking server using its own communication interface on behalf of the tracking device. This helps conserve the battery power of the tracking device because the tracking device does not use its own WWAN interface.

    摘要: In embodiments, a one-to-one association is established between a client and a host in a wireless network, such as a wireless local area network or a wireless personal communication network. The client may be a display device. The host may be a cellular telephone. Active association corresponds to the host exclusively using a shared resource of the client. When the association is solid, requests from other hosts to establish an active association are denied. When the association is fragile, such requests are granted. In the case of a semi-solid association, a request from another host to establish an active association causes the client to generate a query to the host currently owning the active association. If the host currently owning the association grants a release, a new active association is established between the requesting host and the client. Otherwise, the request from the other host is denied.
