    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A method for switching resource pools by a device arranged to transmit according to a first resource pool is provided. The method includes sensing a second resource pool, determining whether the second resource pool has been sensed sufficiently long to apply sensing based resource selection, and selecting resources from an exceptional pool by using random resource selection, if the second resource pool has not been sensed sufficiently long to apply sensing based resource selection.

    Abstract: The present application discloses a method and eNB equipment for supporting seamless handover. The method comprises the following steps of: receiving, by a target eNB, random access information or an RRC connection reconfiguration completion message from a UE; transmitting, by the target eNB, a data transmission stopping indication message to a source eNB; and, stopping, by the source eNB, transmitting downlink data to the UE, and/or stopping, by the source eNB, receiving uplink data from the UE. The present invention further provides several other methods and eNB equipments for supporting seamless handover. By the methods for supporting seamless handover provided by the present invention, the delay of data transmission and the unnecessary data transmission or unnecessary data monitoring of a source eNB can be avoided, the waste of resources and the power consumption can be reduced, and the missing and duplication transmission of data can be avoided.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a method of a User Equipment, UE, in a 3rd Generation Partnership Project, 3GPP, compliant mobile communications network supporting dual connectivity, and a corresponding UE. The method comprises detecting a signalled reconfiguration procedure of a Data Radio Bearer, DRB, having or changing to a DRB type in which downlink, DL, data is received from only serving cells of a Secondary Cell Group, SCG, connected to a Secondary eNB, SeNB, via an SCG DRB, or in which DL data is received from a SCG and also from serving cells of a Master Cell Group, MCG, connected to a Master eNB, MeNB, via a split DRB. If a DRB reconfiguration procedure type including one or more of: a handover; an SCG change; and DRB type change; is detected, the method further comprises: deciding one or more required layer 2 DRB-related actions resulting from the DRB reconfiguration based on: the initial DRB configuration; the final DRB configuration; and relevant DRB reconfiguration procedure types; and performing said decided layer 2 DRB-related actions.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for performing a random access by a user equipment (UE), including identifying a path loss and a size of a message that the UE will transmit after a transmission of a preamble, selecting a preamble set from at least two preamble sets based on a first threshold and a second threshold, wherein a first preamble set is selected if the path loss is less than the first threshold and the size of the message is greater than the second threshold, wherein a second preamble set is selected if the path loss is greater than or equal to the first threshold, or the size of the message is less than or equal to the second threshold, selecting a preamble from the selected preamble set, transmitting, to a base station, the selected preamble, receiving, from the base station, a random access response message including resource allocation information in response to the transmission of the selected preamble, and transmitting, to the base station, a radio resource control message based on the resource allocation information.
