The processor may be configured to: obtain distance information and direction information of a first external device by using the first communication module; and obtain first distance information between the electronic device and an object in a first space that distinguishes the first space from other spaces, by using the depth camera module, When it is identified that the first external device is located within a distance range indicating the first distance information, on the basis of the distance information and direction information of the first external device and the first distance information, the electronic device can identify that the first external device is located in the first space; and group the first external device as a device in the first space.
