Abstract: A content summarization server, a content providing system and a method for summarizing a content are provided. The method for summarizing a content in a content summarization server includes receiving information regarding a content for which a content summary request is received from a display apparatus in response to a content summary request being input from a user, acquiring caption information related to a content for which the content summary request is input based on the received content information, extracting a summarized image of the content according to a rule which corresponds to the content by analyzing the caption information, and transmitting the summarized image of content to the display apparatus.
