The management unit determines a first software module to be set to the logic element as a hardware module in the plurality of software modules on the basis of a predetermined condition with respect to a processing of the input data, and sets a first hardware module corresponding to the first software module to the logic element with reference to the first database.

A network system has: a node performing transmission and reception of a frame based on FCoE (Fibre Channel Over Ethernet); a network; a controller performing management of the node and the network; and a gateway provided with respect to the node. The gateway determines whether a frame received from the node is a control frame or a data frame, forwards the control frame to the controller, and forwards the data frame to the network. The controller performs the management based on the control frame received from the gateway. The network transfers the data frame received from the gateway to a target node without through the controller. The controller comprises a flow management unit that manages a transfer route of the data frame in the network with respect to each flow.

A scheduler allowing high-speed scheduling scalable with the number of input and output ports of a crosspoint switch and suppressed unfairness among inputs is disclosed. The scheduler includes an M×M matrix of scheduling modules, each of which schedules packet forwarding connections from a corresponding input group of input ports to selected ones of a corresponding output group of output ports based on reservation information. A diagonal modulo pattern is used to determine a set of M scheduling modules to avoid coming into collision with each other. Each determined scheduling module performs reservation of packet forwarding connections based on current reservation information and transfers updated reservation information in row and column directions of the M×M matrix.

A management computer has: a storage unit in which a route information indicating a transfer route of frames in the communication network is stored; and a monitoring unit. The monitoring unit refers to the route information to transmit a frame to the transfer route and performs identification processing that identifies a location of a failure on the transfer route. First to N-th nodes (N is an integer equal to or more than 3) line up in order along the transfer route. The i-th node (i=1 to N−1) forwards a received frame to the (i+1)-th node, and the N-th node forwards a received frame to the management computer. In the identification processing, the monitoring unit sets at least one node between the first node and the N-th node as an insertion node. Then, the monitoring unit transmits a frame to the insertion node each, and identifies the location of the failure based on reception state of a frame from the N-th node.

A scheduler and method for scheduling packet forwarding operations is provided. Packet forwarding request information associated with a first set of input port/output port combinations is received. Packet forwarding request information associated with a second set of input port/output port combinations different from the first set of input port/output port combinations is received, where the first set of input port/output port combinations and the second set of input port/output port combinations are selected to not conflict with each other. Packet forwarding for both the first set of input port/output port combinations at a first future time slot and the second set of input port/output port combinations at a second future time slot are simultaneously scheduling at a first scheduler and a second scheduler, respectively, based on the received packet forwarding request information. Reservation information for the first set of input port/output port combinations and the second set of input port/output port combinations is transferred to adjacent schedulers based on a module pattern, where the adjacent schedulers are responsible for scheduling additional sets of input port/output port combinations for the first and second future time slots, respectively.
