    摘要: A sheet transport device is provided with a plurality of sheet transport paths arranged in parallel to one another and a sheet transport assembly for transporting a sheet along the sheet transport path. The transport assembly includes a drive shaft extending normal to the plurality of sheet transport paths, a roller member mounted on the drive shaft in a position corresponding to each of the plurality of sheet transport paths, and a transmission mechanism provided between the drive shaft and roller member for transmitting the rotational force of the drive shaft rotating in a sheet transport direction to the roller member and for shutting off transmission of the rotational force of the roller member rotating in the sheet transport direction to the drive shaft. Accordingly, the misalignment of sheets to be transported simultaneously can be readily corrected. In addition, even if one of the simultaneously transported sheets gets jammed, the jammed sheet can be smoothly removed without affecting transport of the other sheets.

    摘要: An image-forming machine including a main body of the machine having a lower housing and an upper housing mounted on the lower housing pivotably between an open position and a closed position, and a process unit detachably mounted on the lower housing on the main body. The lower housing has a supporting-guiding device mounted pivotably between an elevated position and a lowered position, a holding device pivotably mounted between a holding position at which the supporting-guiding device is held at the elevated position and a release position at which the supporting-guiding device is permitted to move to the lowered position, and a biasing position for elastically biasing the holding device at the holding position. The process unit has a first unit and a second unit. The supporting-guiding device positioned at the elevated position can be mounted on and detached from the first unit. The second unit is separably combined with the first unit. The first unit includes a developing device, and the second unit includes a rotating drum having a photosensitive member disposed on the surface.

    摘要: A three-step screening of selection for resistance against pathogenic bacteria infection, selection for resistance against pathogenic fungi infection, and selection for sensitivity to salicylic acid was carried out on Arabidopsis thaliana lines highly expressing rice full-length cDNA (rice-FOX Arabidopsis lines) which were prepared by using a FOX hunting system. As a result, one Arabidopsis thaliana line (line K15424) selected in all of the three types of screening was successfully selected. Line K15424 carries a rice full-length cDNA. Rice overexpressing AK070024 was produced, and resistance against rice bacterial leaf blight was assayed using the T1 generation. As a result, it was confirmed that AK070024-overexpressing rice is resistant against bacterial leaf blight and blast.
