摘要: A method of forming a mask on a surface utilises the technique of drop on demand ejection to deposit selectively material on said surface. The method comprises the steps of depositing material on said surface to form an outline of the mask on the surface; and subsequently depositing material within said outline to form said mask. Alternatively, the method comprises the steps of depositing material on said surface to form an outline of those parts of the surface on which material is not to be deposited, and subsequently depositing material outside of said outline to form said mask. The formed outline has a greater height than the remainder of the mask so as to provide a barrier for controlling the flow of material subsequently deposited on the surface.

摘要: This invention relates to an aluminum conductor composite core reinforced cable and method of manufacture. The composite core comprises a plurality of longitudinally extending fibers embedded in a resin matrix. The composite core comprises the following characteristics: tensile strength ranging from about 250 to about 350 Ksi; a tensile modulus of elasticity ranging from about 12 to about 16 Msi; and a coefficient of thermal expansion less than or equal to about 6×10−6 cm/cm·° C. The composite core is further manufactured according to a one or more die pultrusion system, the system comprising tooling designed in accordance with the processing speed, selection of composite core fibers and resin and desired physical characteristics of the end composite core.

摘要: A linear compressor includes a cylinder part and a piston part. A spring connects the cylinder part and the piston part and operates in the direction of reciprocation of the piston part relative to the cylinder part. The piston part includes a radially compliant but axially stiff linkage and piston. The cylinder part includes a cylinder and a cylinder liner therewithin. A bore runs through the cylinder liner and the piston reciprocates in the bore. Gas bearing passages are formed between the cylinder and the cylinder liner leading to opening through the wall of the cylinder liner to the bore. A gas bearing manifold receives compressed gases and supplies the compressed gases to the gas bearing passages. The gas bearing passages follow a tortuous path to the openings.

摘要: A method of updating a file attached to an electronic document can include attaching a file to an electronic document and storing a reference to the attached file. The reference can specify a location from which the attached file was obtained. Responsive to a user input, the attached file can be replaced with a file specified by the reference. The attached file also can be updated from newly specified locations.

摘要: A method for instant messages can include a step of an instant messaging server receiving a status request for a user from a status requester. The instant messaging server can determine that the user is not connected to the instant messaging server. A status repository can be queried for an offline status indicator associated with the user. Responsive to finding an offline status indicator in the querying step, the offline status indicator can be conveyed to the status requester.

摘要: A method for adjusting an instant messaging control mechanism can include the steps of determining a control setting for an instant messaging control mechanism based upon a calendar application entry, and responsive to the determining step, automatically adjusting the instant messaging control mechanism to the control setting. In one embodiment, the determining step can be performed by a calendar application to which the calendar application entry corresponds and can be performed responsive to a calendar event. In a further embodiment, the calendar application can establish a time at which the control setting is to be adjusted. The adjusting step can occur at approximately the established time, where the calendar event can occur in advance of the established time.
