    摘要: The present invantion provides a resin particle having many recesses on the surface thereof, which has solvent resistance and heat resistance. More specifically, the present invantion provides a resin particle having many recesses on the surface thereof which is obtained by using a seed particle, wherein a seed particle component in the resin particle has a crosslinked structure. Since the resin particle having many recesses on the surface thereof of the present invention is excellent in solvent resistance and heat resistance in addition to light diffusing properties, the resin particle is appropriate for use, for example, in not only cosmetics containing silicone oil and the like in a preparation, a light diffusing film and a light diffusing sheet prepared by dispersing resin particles as a light diffusing agent in an organic solvent such as 2-butanone and the like in a production process, and a light diffusing plate prepared by kneading at a high shear force the resin patticles as a light diffusing agent with polystyrene or polymethyl methacrylate and the like which melts at a high temperature of approximately 300° C. in a production process.

    摘要: A resin composition for an aqueous paint containing different phase structure emulsion particles obtained by multi-stage emulsion polymerization as a binder, wherein the different phase structure emulsion particles have an outermost phase formed by an emulsion polymer of an ethylenic unsaturated monomer, having a glass transition temperature of from −50° C. to 10° C., and satisfy the following conditions (1) to (3): (1) the emulsion polymer forming the outermost phase contains from 1 to 20 mass % of an ethylenic unsaturated monomer having at least one of a polyethylene glycol chain and a polypropylene glycol chain, (2) at least one phase of inner phases from the outermost phase of the different phase structure emulsion particles comprises an emulsion polymer of an ethylenic unsaturated monomer having a glass transition temperature of from 30° C. to 110° C., and (3) the binder has a minimum film-forming temperature of at most 10° C.

    摘要: Disclosed is a process in which a spherical electrophotographic toner containing a colorant and having a particle size suitable for the electrophotography is directly formed in the polymerization process for formation of a binder resin. If a reaction medium capable of dissolving a monomer but incapable of dissolving a formed polymer is used and polymerization is carried out in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator in the state where the monomer, the colorant and other additives are dissolved or dispersed in the reaction medium, an electrophotographic toner having a desired particle size is obtained. According to this process, the particle size of the colored resin is stably controlled to 1 to 30 .mu.m suitable for a toner in the polymerization process, and the particle size distribution is very sharp.

    摘要: A process for producing an aqueous resin dispersion is disclosed, which comprises dissolving a macromonomer having a radical polymerizable group at the terminal thereof and an oil-soluble radical polymerization initiator in a hydrophobic vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the macromonomer to form a solution, emulsifying the solution in an aqueous medium in the presence of an emulsifying agent selected from (A) an alkali sulfosuccinate anionic surfactant and (B) a surfactant comprising from 2 to 98% by weight of (i) an alkali sulfonate anionic surfactant other than (A) or (ii) an alkali sulfuric ester anionic surfactant, and from 98 to 2% by weight of a nonionic surfactant having an HLB value of 10 or more, and copolymerizing the macromonomer and the vinyl monomer at an elevated temperature. The aqueous resin dispersion has a high content of a graft polymer with a reduced content of unreacted macromonomer.
