    摘要: A method of coding and transmitting moving pictures includes the steps of coding an extended background image, coding parameters indicative of an image area within the extended background image, coding a foreground picture that is to be composed with a background picture corresponding to the image area indicated by the parameters, coding a defocus value indicative of an extent to which the background picture should blur, and transmitting the coded extended background image, the coded parameters, the coded foreground picture, and the coded defocus value as a data stream to a decoder side. Coding and transmitting of the defocus value makes it possible to defocus the background picture at the decoder end, thereby producing a composed image of the background picture and the foreground picture having natural appearance.

    摘要: An apparatus for coding a binary image representing an object shape includes an inferior symbol detecting unit which decides which one of binary zero and binary one is an inferior symbol that is of smaller occurrence within a given area of the binary image, a divided portion generating unit which divides a rectangular block of the given area into divided portions, a map information generating unit which generates map information for each one of the divided portions, the map information indicating whether a corresponding one of the divided portions has the inferior symbol included therein, and a coding unit which encodes only the divided portions that have the inferior symbol included therein, wherein an identification of the inferior symbol, the map information, and the encoded divided portions are output from the apparatus.

A compressive coding pre-processing apparatus provided with the prefilter includes: a prefilter unit for attenuating a diagonal frequency component of each image; a pixel skipping unit for skipping a pixel of an image signal of which diagonal frequency component is attenuated by the prefilter unit by folding back a horizontal high frequency component to a vertical high frequency component, or folding back the vertical high frequency component to the horizontal high frequency component; and a pixel space contracting unit for contracting a space of the skipped pixel.

The drive pulley is provided with a pulley main body which is rotatably supported in both sides in an axial direction by a pair of rolling bearings, and is provided with a plurality of tooth portions, and a pair of regulating members attached to both end sides in an axial direction thereof. The respective regulating members is pinched between an inner ring of the rolling bearing and an end portion of the pulley main body.

    摘要: A microfilm reader capable of printing out a printed image having the extension same as that of the original image recorded in the microfilm at a reduced size without the need of any instruction from the operator or other means. The microfilm used in the microfilm reader has a mark as an internal standard scale which is photographed on a marginal portion of each frame of the microfilm. The length of the scale mark is read and determined to know magnification ratio necessary for printing out a copy image having the same as the corresponding original, and the magnification ratio is varied by a zoom lens of optical system or an electronic processor for processing image signals. In a modified embodiment, a microfilm having an information mark (i.g., a bar code, numerals, characters or format) indicating the dimensions of the original or reducing ratio at the original image photographing step. Information shown by the information mark is sensed to know the magnification ratio necessary for printing out a copy image having the same as the corresponding original.
