    Abstract: A claw clutch for positively connecting a first rotatable component to a second rotatable component. A claw clutch for motor vehicles having an electric drive train which permits a reliable connection of the claw clutch when tooth-on-tooth positions are released and, at the same time, reduces the number of moving elements on the sliding sleeve. A clutch body, which is arranged on the first rotatable component for conjoint rotation therewith, has a first tooth system and a sliding sleeve, which is arranged on the second rotatable component in a manner which allows conjoint rotation and axial movement, has a second tooth system and is axially movable via a shift fork by an actuator system in order to load a spring element by the actuator system in the case of a tooth-on-tooth position. The spring element to be loaded is arranged outside the second rotatable component equipped with the sliding sleeve.

    Abstract: Various methods and systems are provided for an dual-faced clutch collar for a transmission. In one example, a dual-faced clutch collar positioned on an output shaft of a gearbox comprises a clutch collar spline, where the clutch collar spline mates with the output shaft; a first face having a first set of axially protruding teeth to engage a high torque coupling, the first set of teeth having a first profile; and a second face having a second set of axially protruding teeth to engage a low torque coupling; the second set of teeth having a second profile; the second profile being different from the first profile. The first profile may be a courser tooth profile, to allow for maximum load carrying capacity, and the second profile may be a finer tooth profile, to allow for quicker gear engagements and more neutral space (e.g., due to reduced tooth depths).

    Abstract: A shifting device for a drivetrain of a motor vehicle, includes a housing which a first and a second drive shaft are rotatably mounted. The first and second drive shafts are arranged coaxially to one another such that they have a common axis of rotation. The shifting device also includes a shiftable clutch device which is arranged between the first and the second drive shaft. The clutch device has an open shift position in which the first drive shaft is freely rotatable with respect to the second drive shaft, and the clutch device has a closed shift position in which the first drive shaft is connected non-rotatably by the clutch device to the second drive shaft. A control element is displaceable in the direction of the axis of rotation of the drive shafts and, depending on its displacement position, shifts the clutch device to the open or closed shift position. The control element is formed by a sliding sleeve which surrounds at least one of the two drive shafts, and a gear element is provided on an outer circumference of the sliding sleeve.

    Abstract: The Shaft Spring Cutch is an apparatus, used to drive fasteners, or the like, that is multi-directional, and non-ratcheting, comprised of two drive members, separated and held in an unengaged position by a return spring, that are axially retained within a guide housing. The first drive member is attached to a handle or input shaft. The second drive member is attached to a drive bit. When in an unengaged position, the handle, or input shaft, can rotate freely in either direction relative to the drive bit. The first and second drive members are engaged by applying axial force sufficient to overcome the return spring force, which locks the handle, or input shaft, and drive bit together. Once engaged, any rotational force applied to the handle, or input shaft, is transferred to the drive bit. Optionally, the apparatus may be locked together for continuous drive bit engagement using a locking mechanism and a fastener can be placed directly on the drive bit, then using a feature of the tool, the fastener can be spun by hand until set.
