摘要： A bicycle hub has an axle and a hub shell rotatably disposed about the axle with a plurality of spoke fixing parts disposed at opposite ends of the hub shell. Each of the spoke fixing parts has a through hole having a small width section extending from a first side of a corresponding one of the spoke fixing parts and a large width section extending from a second side of the corresponding one of the spoke fixing parts such that an internal abutment is formed between the small and large width sections. The securing elements are removably disposed in the large width sections of the spoke fixing parts of the hub shell with each of the securing elements having a threaded bore that is aligned with and substantially equal to the small width sections of the spoke fixing parts of the hub shell.

The annular metallic rim member has a plurality of spoke attachment arcas with at least one spoke attachment opening in each of the spoke attachment areas and a plurality of intermediate areas disposed between adjacent pairs of the spoke attachment areas. The reinforcing member extends circumferentially about the annular metallic rim member to overlie the spoke attachment areas of the annular metallic rim member. The reinforcing member has a plurality of discrete spoke attachment area reinforcing parts overlying a corresponding one of the spoke attachment areas of the annular metallic rim member. The reinforcing member also has a rim reinforcing part overlying the intermediate areas of the annular metallic rim member and at least partially overlying the discrete spoke attachment area reinforcing parts.

The side portions have ribs to form opposing tire supporting surfaces. The outer portion extends between the side portions. The outer portion includes a pair of annular inclined surfaces extending radially inwardly from the side portions with a curved connecting surface extending therebetween. The spoke attachment portion is rigidly coupled with the side portions and the outer portion. The inclined surfaces are preferably angled between three degrees and seventeen degrees. The outer annular portion preferably has at least one aperture, but fewer than half of the number of spoke openings. The side portions preferably have a pair of inner bent sections. A pair of spoke attachment sections with the plurality of circumferentially arranged spoke openings preferably have radial lengths larger than the spoke openings.

摘要： A bicycle wheel basically has a central hub assembly, a plurality of spokes extending outwardly from the central hub assembly and an annular rim coupled to the outer ends of the spokes for supporting a tire. The central hub assembly has a hub axle, a hub unit, a freewheel and a sprocket assembly with a plurality of sprockets. The hub axle has a center axis extending between a first frame mounting end and a second frame mounting end. The hub unit has a hub body, a first spoke mounting portion, a second spoke mounting portion and an interior passageway. The first spoke mounting portion is located adjacent a first end of the hub body. The second spoke mounting portion is located adjacent a second end of the hub body. The interior passageway extends through the hub body with the hub axle being rotatably supported therein. The freewheel is operatively coupled between the first end of the hub axle and the first end of the hub body. The sprockets are coupled to the freewheel and axially spaced apart along the freewheel. The first spoke mounting portion has a recess that receives inner portions of the freewheel and the sprocket assembly therein. The first spoke mounting portion is also at least partially located in a radial center portion of one of the sprockets.

The outer ends of the spokes have bent sections located within the spoke holes of the reinforcement members or washers and head section that engage the inner surface of the reinforcement members. The rim is free of access apertures or holes in the outer annular portion adjacent a majority of the spoke holes. The reinforcement member has a transverse dimension allowing the outer end of the spoke and the reinforcement member to pass through the openings in a first orientation and be retained in the openings in a second orientation.
