    摘要： An electronic dictionary and language interpreter includes an input keyboard actuated for entering a pair of a new word or words and a translated word or words corresponding thereto, a read/write memory for memorizing the pair of the word or words and the translated word or words, a read-only memory fixedly containing a plurality of pairs of a word/words and a translated word/words, and an access circuit operated for addressing the read/write memory and the read-only memory to cause retrieval of any desired pair of a word and a translation word or words among the new word or words and the translated word or words, and the plurality of pairs of the word/words and the translated word/words. Preferably, there is further provided a word cancellation circuit useful in permitting the removal of the pair of the new word or words and the translated word or words from the read/write memory. A different new pair of a new word or words and a translated word or words may replace the old pair of the word or words and the translated word or words in the read/write memory when the old pair has been applied from the input keyboard to the read/write memory.

    摘要： A word information storage device is adapted to retrieve symbols for explaining the context of literal forms of translated words in a second language corresponding to a specific word in a first language. The symbols are preliminarily stored in a memory such as ROM together with the relevant literal forms of translated words. The word information storage device causes retrieval of the symbols, and the literal forms of the translated words corresponding to the specific word entered. The word information storage device is further adapted to selectively function as an electronic calculator. A keyboard is provided to be operated as an alphabetical keyboard in a word information searching mode and as a numeral keyboard in an electronic calculator mode. A display screen is provided for simultaneously displaying a specific word in a first language, a plurality of literal forms of translated words in a second language corresponding to the specific word and the respective symbols explaining the context of the literal forms of the translated words.

    摘要： There is disclosed a one-chip speech synthesizer capable of providing synthesized human voices through a new and effective concept of LSI architecture. The synthesizer may execute all of the steps necessary for processing of sample data and enhances the processing speed through a new memory architecture by constructing the one-word length of a control memory (control ROM) longer than the one-word length of a data memory (data ROM). The synthesizer reproduces audible synthesized sounds merely by an added amplifier outside the one-chip LSI semiconductor device without the need to provide a digital-to-analog converter. The LSI device may be used with an expandable external memory as an extension of the data memory (data ROM) whenever a large number of words are to be processed.

    摘要： An electronic translator is featured where a particular sentence is accessed from a memory depending on at least one key word entered. The key word is contained in the particular sentence. A subject category may be selected from a plurality of subject categories and only sentences within the selected category may be searched. The translator comprises an input circuit for entering the key word, and subject category an access means for accessing the key word from the subject category within memory so as to specify and access the sentence, and a detection circuit for detecting whether the key word is accessed from the subject category within memory.
