摘要: To form a through hole at one portion of a side wall, of an expanded portion made by plastically deforming one part of a metal tube radially outward, in a portion where the plate thickness gradually changes, a slide tool is withdrawn from inside a punch hole while applying hydraulic pressure to the inside of the side wall. At the instant of commencing withdrawal of the slide tool, the degree of progress in the shearing for the portions of the side wall matching with the two side edges of the punch hole is made different. Then, the timing for moving from shearing to rupture is made to coincide, so that of the side wall, the portions matching with the punch hole, are made reliably into a blank, and are extracted from the side wall.

摘要: A structure and method are provided for forming a through hole at one portion of a side wall of an expanded portion made by plastically deforming one part of a metal tube radially outward, in a portion where the plate thickness gradually changes. A slide tool is withdrawn from inside a punch hole while applying hydraulic pressure to the inside of the side wall. Regarding a tip end face of the slide tool, a portion facing the portion of the side wall where the plate thickness is relatively thick is recessed.

摘要: A bending apparatus for manufacturing a bent member from a steel pipe with high dimensional accuracy and high productivity can be installed in a small space with good maintainability. The apparatus has a feed mechanism for feeding a steel pipe in its lengthwise direction, a first support mechanism for supporting the steel pipe while feeding it, a heating mechanism for heating a part or all of the steel pipe being fed, a cooling mechanism for cooling the portion of the heated steel pipe being fed, a second support mechanism for imparting a bending moment to the heated portion of the steel pipe to bend the steel pipe into a desired shape by moving two-dimensionally or three-dimensionally while supporting the fed steel pipe in at least one location, and a deformation preventing mechanism for preventing deformation of the steel pipe. The feed mechanism is a vertically articulated robot having seven axes.

摘要: An induction heating coil for stably heating a steel tube which is being fed in its axial direction without rotating, the heating being uniform in the circumferential direction and in a narrow range in the axial direction has at least two 1-turn coils in the form of a first turn coil body and a second turn coil body. The inner peripheral length Ln (the non-effective coil length) where the effective number of coil turns is less than the total number of coil turns when the coil is projected in the axial direction and the inner peripheral length L0 of the projected coil bodies (the inner coil length) satisfy Ln/L0

摘要: A front side member having a single body formed from a tubular body having a closed cross section has a front portion which extends in the fore and aft direction of a vehicle body, a sloping portion which is continuous with the front portion and slopes downwards along a dash panel, and a rear portion continuous with the sloping portion and extending along the bottom surface of a floor panel joined to the dash panel. A portion of the front portion is an unquenched portion which has not undergone quenching treatment and the remainder is a high frequency quenched portion which has undergone high frequency quenching. The sloping portion is a high frequency quenched portion. A portion of the rear portion is an unquenched portion which has not undergone quenching and the remainder other than that portion is a high frequency quenched portion which has undergone high frequency quenching.

摘要: A profile mother pipe for hydraulic bulging of the present invention has a peripheral length whose outer diameter is gradually increased or decreased from one end to the other end in an axial direction. In the profile mother pipe, a holding portion whose peripheral length is increased toward a pipe end face on one end side can be formed on at least one end side and a parallel portion can be formed on the other end side where the holding portion is not formed. In a working apparatus and method in which the profile mother pipe is used, pressing working can be performed from the pipe end toward the axial direction, even in use of the profile mother pipe whose sectional shape is largely varied in the axial direction. Therefore, an expansion ratio larger than ever before can be obtained in a hydraulic bulged product to which hydraulic bulging is performed.
