    摘要： An inspection apparatus utilizing a pulse compression technique is described which comprises a signal generator, a transmission/reception probe; first and second correlators and an adder. The signal generator generates a composite transmission signal consisting of signals Sap(t), Saq(t), Sbp(t) and Sbq(t) respectively based on a basic unit signal ga(t) and a sequence {p}, the signal ga(t) and a sequence {q}, a basic unit signal gb(t) and the sequence {p}, and the signal gb(t) and the sequence {q}, to the probe to transmit the composite transmission signal to a target. The first correlator performs a correlation operation of echo signals Rap(t), Raq(t), Rbp(t) and Rbq(t) corresponding to the signal Sap(t), Saq(t) and Sbq(t) by utilizing reference signals Ua(t) and Ub(t) based on the sequences to provide results Caap(t), Caaq(t), Cbbp(t) and Cbbq(t). The detecting apparatus also includes a transmitting means to transmit waves, which may be ultrasonic waves, to an object and a receiving means for receiving an echo corresponding to the transmission signal. A correlation operation means performs a correlation operation with respect to the echo. In another general aspect, the sequence generating means may generate more than one sequence, some of whose auto-correlation functions produce substantially zero sidelobe in the summed result. In a further general aspect, the sequence generating means generates two or more sequences, with each of the sequences being different from the others and having substantially the same auto-correlation function as the others.

    摘要： An ultrasonic flaw detection apparatus is equipped with a probe which is driven by a transmission signal and which transmits an ultrasonic pulse at an angle with respect to a surface of a test object. The probe receives an ultrasonic pulse, which has been reflected by a defect in the test object, as an echo. The apparatus further includes a scanner for scanning the probe over a predetermined scanning zone on the test object and for outputting a spatial position of the probe. The apparatus is further equipped with a transmitter-receiver which has a transmitter for generating a transmission signal and outputting the transmission signal to the probe, a position detector for receiving a spatial position of the probe from the scanner, and a signal processor for detecting the defect according to the stored spatial position of the probe and the stored echo, taking the spread of an ultrasonic beam attributable to diffraction into account. The apparatus makes it possible to improve the accuracy of an examination based on an ultrasonic wave through a test object, and also to improve the capability of detection and the accuracy of measurement of the shape, size, position, etc. of an acoustically disconnected portion (defect).

    摘要： A blank feeder for a packaging machine for use with folded flat blanks unfoldable into tubes of square to rectangular cross section and having different lengths to form containers of different capacities. The feeder includes a magazine for containing a stack of flat container blanks. The magazine comprises an inclined frame defining a downward delivery opening and having opposite side members, an upper member and a lower member, a pair of blank unfolding pawls provided at the bottom surfaces of the upper and lower frame members and partly projecting into the opening, and a pair of movable blank supports reciprocatingly movable between an upper position above the frame and a lower position below the frame through the opening. The upper frame member is movable by a hydraulic cylinder longitudinally of the frame to adjust the distance between the unfolding pawls to the length of the blank. Blanks are supplied by an elevator to the movable blank supports in the upper position and then placed on fixed blank supports at the frame bottom by lowering the movable supports. When the movable supports are raised to the upper position to remove the remaining blanks from the magazine after packaging, the blanks are transferred from the movable supports onto movable guide rods brought to a fallen position from an upright position on the lower frame member.
