摘要: Examples of determining tuberculation in a fluid distribution system are disclosed. In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, an acoustical wave generator generates an acoustical wave within a fluid path of a fluid distribution system. A first acoustical sensor and a second acoustical sensor sense the acoustical wave. An acoustical signal analysis module determines an amount of tuberculation within the fluid distribution system by analyzing the sensed acoustical wave.

摘要: An installation for non-destructive control for a metal tube in which an ultrasound sensor includes transducer elements that can be excited each at selected times. A downstream circuit for processing the sensed signals analyzes a global response of the tube at ultrasonic excitation. The transducer elements are only excited to produce a single emission and the downstream circuit recovers the samples of the sensed signals each through a transducer element, to associate therewith successive times respectively offset, to calculate plural global responses of the tube at a single emission, by modifying the shifts between the successive times.

摘要: A system and method for performing rupture event scanning and other sensing operations on a sample. The method includes providing a transducer with an immobilized binding partner material and a sample material disposed thereon. The sample material is applied to the immobilized binding partner material so that, if components in the sample material have sufficient affinity for the immobilized binding partner material, bonds will form between at least some of such components and the immobilized binding partner material. The method further includes accelerating the transducer to induce bond breakage, where such accelerating is performed by applying a drive signal to the transducer. The drive signal includes a waveform having multiple frequency components that are pre-selected based on expected resonance behavior of the transducer. The method may also include analyzing an output response of the transducer in response to application of the drive signal.

摘要: A method to determine a physical quantity within a measuring space by means of acoustic transit time measurement uses an acoustic transducer as a transmitter and an acoustic transducer as a receiver. The two functions can also be combined in a single transducer. The acoustic transit time measurement involves a time-dependent comparison between the shape of an acoustic transmitted signal selected at least partly on the basis of the type of signal processing to be used and at least two points in an acoustic received signal and/or a signal derived from that received signal again selected at least partly on the basis of the type of processing to be used. An apparatus for this method could be equipped with an acoustic signal-generating transducer, an acoustic signal detection transducer, a signal processing device which selects measuring points from the signal, and detection algorithm adapted to the shape of the signal.

摘要: A method of detecting the presence or absence of a blockage in an enclosed environment is provided. The method includes introducing an acoustic wave into the enclosed environment; receiving at sensor locations the acoustic wave and any reflected acoustic wave caused by the acoustic wave contacting a blockage; and, analyzing the acoustic wave and any reflected acoustic wave to determine the presence or absence of the blockage. The method can also include coherently accumulating into a digitized data array an electrical response indicative of the received acoustic wave and any reflected acoustic wave caused by the blockage. The method can further include computing a correlation between the introduced acoustic wave and the digitized data array. A system is also disclosed for detecting the presence or absence of a blockage in an enclosed environment. The system can include a communications interface for remote analysis and/or control of the system by a user. In another aspect, a computer-readable medium is provided that contains instructions for controlling a computer to perform detection and analysis on blockages in an enclosed environment. The instructions comprise constructing an interrogation waveform at a predetermined sampling rate; directing a transmitter to introduce an interrogation acoustic wave into the enclosed environment; coherently accumulating an electrical response into a digitized array representative of the interrogation acoustic waves and the acoustic waves reflected from a blockage; and, computing a correlation between said interrogation acoustic wave and said digitized data array.

摘要: The claimed method of in-tube ultrasonic flaw detection of pipelines is effected, in accordance with one embodiment, by placing inside a pipeline an inspection pig or flaw detector having ultrasonic transducers, devices for measurements, processing and storage of the measured data. During the pig travel, the transducers emit probing ultrasonic pulses and receive the reflected pulses corresponding to said probing pulse thus deriving data on the time intervals corresponding to the transit time of said pulses, the measured data being converted and stored. In the process of the data conversion a sequence of values of the transit time of the ultrasonic pulses is formed, an area of values of a certain width is derived, in which the maximum number of the obtained values of said sequence is located, the range of values uniquely corresponding to the found area of values, in which at least one value relates to the derived area of values, the number of obtained values of the sequence laying in said range of values is recorded in said storage device together with a code uniquely corresponding to said area of values and/or said range of values. The obtained values beyond the limits of said range of values are directly recorded in the digital data storage device. The implementation of the claimed method allows one to, for example, increase the efficiency of compression of the ultrasonic data, especially when detecting the flaws in the linear part of trunk pipelines including pipe with different nominal thickness of the walls, and in the presence of flaws such as > and similar flaws in the pipeline.
