摘要: The invention relates to a substrate (SUB) serving as a support, an optical waveguide (OWL) disposed on the substrate (SUB) and electrical conduction paths (ELB). Conventionally, the electrical conduction paths are placed on a thin insulating layer covering the substrate. According to the invention, the electrical conduction path (ELB) are routed on top of the surface (WOF) of the optical waveguide (OWL). This provides an improved insulation of the electrical conduction paths (ELB); moreover, the substrate surface is better utilized. Preferably, the electrical conduction paths (ELB) which are placed in ramp-like recesses (RA), are routed from the substrate surface (SOF) upwards to the surface (WOF) of the optical waveguide (OWL). The invention can be employed most advantageously proximate to laser bars where several conduction paths which are combined to form coplanar electrical waveguides, are arranged in a tight space.

摘要: The invention concerns a device whereby micro-optic parts, particularly those that tend to tilt because of their geometric dimensions, can be precisely arranged on a support. The device according to the invention comprises a support (TR) on which several guide elements (FE1 . . . FE4) are placed in cutouts (A1 l . . . A4). The arrangement of the guide elements (FE1 . . . FE4) is such that the micro-optic part (BT) to be positioned can be inserted between the guide elements (FE1 . . . FE4). In this way an active adjustment is not required. In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the guide elements (FE1 . . . FE4) touch the micro-optic part (BT) at points that are located at different distances from the surface of the support (TR). In this way tilting is prevented in a particularly effective manner. The support (TR) is made of a silicon substrate for example; the guide elements (FE1 . . . FE4) can be uncoated spherical lenses which are placed in cutouts etched into the substrate by means of wet chemical methods.

The disclosed invention relates to an electro-optical device for use with a facsimile printer, telecopier, etc., designed to accommodate line-at-a-time output of picture information with the aid of an electrically controllable electro-optical substrate made from a transparent electro-optical material, with the optical effect being controlled by applying a voltage between two control electrodes arranged next to each other on the substrate. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, within the area (4) of the substrate (1) to be controlled, and in addition to the control electrodes (2,3), there is provided at least one additional electrode (7) which may be common to several such areas (4), with each area (4) to be controlled having a corresponding opening (8) in the additional electrode (7) and the two control electrodes (2, 3) being spaced apart from each other on one side of the substrate (1) and the one or more additional electrodes (7) being arranged on the opposite side of the substrate. By applying a suitable voltage to the additional electrode (7), the electro-optical effect of the substrate can be varied within the areas (4) independently of the control (switching) voltage applied to the control electrodes (2, 3). Thus, various grey values can be provided; alternatively, a particular substrate (1) can be matched or adapted to one from another production batch and the control voltages can be kept to minimal levels.

摘要: A device for controlling the spot elements of an optically controllable component in a facsimile recorder which permits a high writing speed with minimum circuitry. The plurality of spot elements of the controllable optical component are combined in n groups of m>1 spot elements each, the m spot elements of a group forming a partial line. The individual partial lines are energized successively in time, while their m spot elements are energized simultaneously, the respective n-1 nonenergized partial lines completely blocking the light flux.
