摘要: An anterior spinal implant includes a superior end face, an inferior end face and a sidewall extending between the superior end face and the inferior end face. The superior end face and the inferior end face are convex. In one application, the superior and inferior end faces are convex. The sidewall includes a convexly curved leading portion, a convexly curved trailing portion and a pair of substantially planar side portions. The superior and inferior end faces transition in a sagittal plane from a first radius of curvature to a second radius of curvature. The first radius of curvature is smaller than the second radius of curvature. The apexes of the superior and inferior end faces are offset from a center of the implant.

摘要: A blade plate, as well as instruments and methods for securing the blade plate to a bone to reduce a bone fracture. The blade plate includes a plate portion and a blade portion extending at an angle relative to the plate portion. The plate portion includes a plurality of holes for receipt of bone screws for securing the blade plate to the bone about the bone fracture. A strut screw, inserted through a hole in the plate portion, spans the angle between the plate and blade portions, and threadingly engages a hole in the blade portion to slightly draw the plate and blade portions together to compress and support the bone fracture. A pair of top screws are inserted through holes in the plate portion at angles with respect to the strut screw on either side of the strut screw. Additionally, the blade plate is designed to closely conform to the surface of the bone to minimize the gap between the bone and the blade plate. In order to secure the blade plate to a bone, a chisel/drill guide, chisel, insertion guide, and screw drill guides are provided.

摘要: A system for performing osteotomies includes a bone plate and a retractor assembly. The bone plate is operative for securing the relative positions between first and second portions of a bone that are separated by a gap. The bone plate generally includes a first mounting portion, a second mounting portion and an intermediate portion. The first mounting portion is for attachment to the first bone portion. The second mounting portion is for attachment to the second bone portion. The intermediate portion connects the first mounting portion and the second mounting portion in a first direction and has a central width in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction that is substantially less than a width of first and second ends. The retractor assembly establishes a wedge-shaped gap between the first and second portions of the bone. The retractor assembly generally includes first and second handle members and first and second jaw members. The second handle member is coupled to the first handle member for relative movement about a first pivot axis. The first jaw member has a first end coupled to a first end of the first handle member. The second jaw member has a second end coupled to a second end of the second handle member. The second jaw member includes a second end pivotally coupled to a second end of the second jaw member for relative movement about a pivot axis.

摘要: A bone clamp having a ratchet mechanism including ratchet teeth having rounded peaks with curved valleys therebetween and a curved pawl having a curvature similar to the valleys spanning the peaks of the ratchet teeth. The ratchet mechanism of the current invention distributes the interaction forces between the ratchet teeth and the pawl and therefore is resistive to shear stresses which could otherwise compromise the structural integrity of the ratchet mechanism.
