    摘要: A blade plate, as well as instruments and methods for securing the blade plate to a bone to reduce a bone fracture. The blade plate includes a plate portion and a blade portion extending at an angle relative to the plate portion. The plate portion includes a plurality of holes for receipt of bone screws for securing the blade plate to the bone about the bone fracture. A strut screw, inserted through a hole in the plate portion, spans the angle between the plate and blade portions, and threadingly engages a hole in the blade portion to slightly draw the plate and blade portions together to compress and support the bone fracture. A pair of top screws are inserted through holes in the plate portion at angles with respect to the strut screw on either side of the strut screw. Additionally, the blade plate is designed to closely conform to the surface of the bone to minimize the gap between the bone and the blade plate. In order to secure the blade plate to a bone, a chisel/drill guide, chisel, insertion guide, and screw drill guides are provided.

    摘要: An orthopaedic bone plate is coupled to a bone having an enlarged head at one end thereof which is attached to a shaft. The bone plate includes an elongate portion, a flared portion and an intermediate portion. The elongate portion is attachable to the bone shaft using a plurality of bone screws. The elongate portion generally defines a longitudinal axis. The flared portion is attachable to the bone head using at least one bone screw. The intermediate portion interconnects the elongate portion and the flared portion. The intermediate portion is structured and arranged to allow the elongate portion and the flared portion to move relative to each other in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis when the elongate portion and the flared portion are attached to the bone.

The bone fracture fixation system can also include a jig that can be moved relative to non-parallel cannulas guided by the jig into operative position relative to a bone plate. In one embodiment, the jig includes grooves which do not completely surround the perimeter of the cannulas guided by the jig. The bone fracture fixation system can also include a jig including guides having a position and orientation which is adjustable relative to other ones of the guides. In one embodiment, the jig includes two portions that can articulate with respect to each other. The bone fracture fixation system can also include a wire bender that can bend a wire greater than 180 degrees so that both ends of the wire can be inserted into a fractured bone.

    摘要: Chimeric fusion proteins comprising Neisseria transferrin binding proteins (Tbps) from, for example, N. gonorrhoeae and/or N. meningitidis are provided. The fusion proteins elicit an antibody response in the mucosa of the urogenital and/or oropharynx tract, as well as in the serum. The resulting serum antibodies are cross-bactericidal against heterologous bacterial strains. The chimeric proteins also comprise a mucosal adjuvant such as a toxin subunit, e.g. the B subunit of cholera toxin or of Escherichia coli heat labile toxin II. Methods of inhibiting the growth of Neisseria species on mucosal surfaces of a mammal by either administering the fusion proteins of the invention, or antibodies directed to the fusion proteins of the invention, to the mammal.

The integrated guidance system comprises a position determining system for determining the geographic position of the mobile machine. A guidance system coupled with the position determining system is for determining a deviation of the mobile machine from a desired direction. The integrated guidance system also comprises a display coupled with the guidance system for visually indicating a deviation from a desired direction and a steering interface for controlling the steering component. The steering component automatically controls the steering mechanism of the mobile machine in response to a steering command generated by the steering interface. In embodiments of the present invention, the position determining system, the guidance system, the display, and the steering interface are disposed within a housing.
