    摘要: An LED lamp is placed in service on an automotive vehicle to enhance nighttime visual ability or anywhere where increased lighting is needed. The LED lamp utilizes a multi-stage power and control design, where the LED drive current is managed by an LED constant current controller that is coupled to a microprocessor that commands the intensity value of an LED array. The microprocessor manages the light intensity of the LED array using well known pulse-width modulation control methods. The microprocessor measures the voltage of the DC power source and to detect when DC power is removed. Once this detection has occurred, the microprocessor signals the LED current controller to change the current operational mode being delivered to the LED array to the next available operational mode, or alternatively, to the next appropriate operational mode to be used as determined by software stored within the microprocessor.

    摘要: A lighting fixture includes a plurality of light sources and an auxiliary component bay. The light sources and auxiliary component bay may be independently energized to cause one or more of the plurality of light fixtures to illuminate and/or to energize an auxiliary electronic component that is removably coupled to the auxiliary component bay. The auxiliary electronic component may include a camera, a battery pack, a work light or any other electronic device that may utilize operational power from a vehicle to perform a function. The auxiliary electronic component may include its own power converter which may accept a vehicular power signal to derive operation power therefrom. The lighting fixture may produce a beam pattern that is optimized for use when the auxiliary electronic component includes a camera. The auxiliary electronic component may be cooled by a thermoelectric device coupled to the component bay.

    摘要: An electronics package includes an electronic component having a light emitting diode (LED) and a protective case encapsulating the electronic component. An optical system is arranged between the electronic component and the protective case. The optical system is maneuvered to one of multiple positions via an actuator that is coupled to the optical system, where the actuator is accessible external to the protective case by the user of the electronics package. A first position of the optical system allows the light generated by the LED to be collected and/or controlled by the optical system. A second position of the optical system allows the light generated by the LED to be unaffected by the optical system. A third position of the optical system allows at least a portion of the light generated by the LED to be collected and/or controlled by the optical system and the remaining portion to be unaffected.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for collecting and projecting light into a specified target illuminance. A lens may be mounted or otherwise paired to a carrier to form a lens/carrier combination, which may then be mounted to a printed circuit board containing a light emitting diode (LED). The lens/carrier combination may establish an optimum optical relationship between the LED and the lens, such that a predetermined photometric distribution of the LED is collected by the lens, while the remaining photometric distribution of the LED is rejected by the carrier. The photometric distribution of neighboring LEDs, if any, may also be rejected by the carrier so that interference light may not be allowed into any lens. A diffuser may then spread the specified target illuminance into a beam pattern that may be compliant with specific standards (e.g., Department of Transportation or Economic Commission for Europe standards).

    摘要: A method and apparatus for a curved lighting fixture that is symmetric about a longitudinal axis of the curved lighting fixture. The curved lighting fixture includes end caps that are parallel to the longitudinal axis. Each end cap includes two mounting studs that secure the lighting fixture to mounting brackets, where a first mounting stud provides an axis of rotation for the lighting fixture and a second mounting stud facilitates the rotation. The two mounting studs do not enter into an interior portion of the lighting fixture so as to facilitate externally serviceable hardware. A bushing provides an external retention mechanism to retain the two mounting studs within each end cap.
