摘要: Improved methods, systems, and devices for managing communications are provided. A user device may display all ongoing communications so that a user can visualize the communications network or some subset thereof (e.g., a subgroup or group of users). A system may maintain the user device in an instant ready-on mode of communication with the other user devices. A user may then initiate communications with a subgroup (e.g., a pair) or group without initiating a new connection. Accordingly, a user can simultaneously and fluidly communicate at the subgroup level, at the group level, or at the inter-group level. Moreover, users can function as independent actors that can freely form and leave subgroups as well as groups.

摘要: Systems and methods for collectively generating sound are provided. A sound composition can include multiple component pieces and those component pieces can be divided amongst devices so that the devices can collectively generate the sound composition. For example, each component piece may be assigned to a different device and the each device may provide its assigned component pieces in a synchronized manner so that the overall sound composition is collectively generated. By generating a sound composition in this manner, the network may create new and exciting spatial effects.

摘要: Systems and methods for generating sound, detecting sound, and generating and detecting sound are provided. An array of audio transducers can be provided whereby each audio transducer in the array can be optimized for a narrow range of sound frequencies. When operating at or close to its resonant frequency, a transducer can generate (and/or detect) sound with a higher efficiency and less distortion as compared to other frequencies. Accordingly, sound may be divided into component signals such that each transducer is only responsible for generating (and/or detection) sound close to its resonant frequency. This sound reproduction (and/or detection) technique can increase efficiency, and therefore, can increase the total output volume that an array can generate using a given amount of input power when generating sound (and/or increase the total output power that an array can generate using a given amount of input volume when detecting sound).

摘要: Systems and methods for generating group portraits using video chat systems are provided. A communications system can generate a group portrait that includes an image of two or more users. For example, a communications system can generate a group portrait that includes an image of each user participating in a video conference, and the group portrait may serve as a memento from the video conference.
