摘要: A device (20) for an automotive vehicle (10) is provided to indicate the buckled and unbuckled status of a seatbelt (24). The device (20) has a self-powered wireless switch assembly (22) that is coupled to the seatbelt (24). It provides power to power a wireless transmitter (44) to transmit a wireless signal (45) corresponding to the buckled and unbuckled state of the seatbelt (24). The self-powered wireless switch assembly (22) harvests energy from the mechanical action of the seatbelt (24). The device (20) transmits a wireless signal (45) indicating the seatbelt (24) status. The receiver (18) located in the automotive vehicle (10) receives the wireless signal (45). The wireless signal (45) is processed by a safety information system (12) and then visually and audibly displayed by an indicator (16) to alert the driver of the seatbelt (24) status.

摘要: A rotating rod in combination with a retractable concave/convex tape creates pairs of folds on a fabric article on a horizontal platform. A machine and method are described. The tape extends outward and downward to hold the article at a first fold location, while the rotating rod moves from below, then over and across the tape, pulling the fabric with it to create a second fold at the farthest motion of the rod. These motions are typically repeated on the other side of the article, then at right angles, created a finished, folded article of a generally rectangular shape.

摘要: There are disclosed display devices with integral touch screens and methods for operating display panels. A display panel may include a plurality of pixels, each pixel controlled by a corresponding one of a plurality of column electrodes and a corresponding one of a plurality of row electrodes. Each column electrode may be coupled to a respective column driver circuit and at least some of the column electrodes may be coupled to respective column sensing circuits adapted to sense capacitive coupling between the respective column electrodes and a probe adjacent to an external surface of the display panel. Each row electrode may be coupled to a respective row driver circuit and at least some of the row electrodes may be coupled to respective row sensing circuits adapted to sense capacitive coupling between the respective row electrodes and a probe adjacent to an external surface of the display panel.

摘要: A three-dimensional (3D) computer aided design (CAD) user interface (UI) is describing using both two-handed and one-handed free hand gestures and poses to map to actions in the 3D CAD UI environment. Free hands may be used to directly both constrain and organically modify an object. Intuitive analogs to physical tools are used, with gradual changes to visibility. Parts are automatically modified to meet object-specific and rule-based constraints. Multiple copies of a physical analog element, with known dimensions, may be continually created by a free hand and automatically assembled into an appropriate, organized and contiguous structure containing integral visible fiducials based on the dimensions of the element. Temporary layers of an object are used to permit organic modifications of portions of an object. Use of a fastener creates and then fastens to a mating part. Visible physical analogs provide perspective. Non-linear magnification permits rapid, wide dynamic range object modification.

摘要: A proximity sensor system for a vehicle that is parked includes a first remote sensor that senses objects in a rearward area relative to the vehicle. A park determination module determines the vehicle is parked. A door condition module determines a status of a door of the vehicle. A response module selectively responds to the objects based on door condition module signals and park determination module signals. An indicator responds to response module signals.

摘要: Device and method of imaging a limb, such as an arm or leg, by scanning using both an optical camera and an ultrasound sensor, where the devices are electronically or mechanically linked such they both scan a portion of the limb, and the images displayed from the two sensors are visually aligned. Scanning may be in one or both of the longitudinal plane and the axis of the limb, such that most of the surface of the limb may be imaged. Stitched images from the sensors are visually aligned relative to the anatomical features of the limb. The limb is placed in a receptacle, typically with an open top, containing a transparent fluid through which both sensors operate. Either the sensors move (scan) relative to the fixed receptacle or the receptacle rotates, such as on a turntable.

摘要: A method for sanitary beverage can packaging incorporates a plastic sanitation sheet between the tops of the beverage cans and a plastic can retainer. The sanitation sheet covers the tops of the cans, protecting them from dust and overhead spills. Some embodiments use a watertight or airtight seal of the sanitation sheet around the can rim. Some embodiments include visible indicators of seal breakage or direct contamination, using moisture or oxygen detection. Some indicators create a hole in the sanitation sheet. Other indicators provide visible warning text or symbols. The sheet and indicators provide both actual contaminant protection and visible indication of contamination. Embodiments include the plastic sanitation sheet, integration with beverage cans, and a method for use in providing assured sanitary cans to consumers.

摘要: System, method and device to generate user tactile feedback using working fluid inside a sealed vessel, which is vaporized causing a rapid pressure/volume change, then the fluid condenses, restoring original pressure/volume. In one embodiment this sequence is repeated to create a vibration. The sealed vessel is mechanically coupled to a touch surface so the user feels the vibration, typically with a fingertip. In some embodiments a portion of the sealed vessel is also the touch surface. In some embodiments multiple vessels are arranged in an array behind or integral to the touch surfaces.
