摘要: A method includes obtaining a 3-D volume of anatomy including at least the structure of interest. The method further includes acquiring, with an array of an ultrasound probe, a real-time 2-D ultrasound image of the structure of interest in a cavity parallel to a longitudinal axis of the ultrasound probe. The method further includes calculating a metric from a 2-D plane extracted from the 3D volume and the real-time 2-D ultrasound sagittal image. The metric identifies a plane, from sagittal planes of the 3D volume, and a position within the plane, that best fits the real-time 2-D ultrasound sagittal image. The method further includes identifying a current location of the ultrasound probe with respect to the anatomy based on the identified position.

In an embodiment, a treatment system and method can be configured for producing arrays of sub-millimeter and larger zones of thermal ablation to treat the epidermal, superficial dermal, mid-dermal or deep dermal components of tissue.

摘要: Devices, systems, and methods for controlling an intravascular imaging device are provided. For example, in one embodiment a method includes communicating a control signal to an actuator of the intravascular imaging device to cause oscillation of an imaging element of the intravascular imaging device, wherein the intravascular imaging device further includes an acoustic marker; receiving imaging data from the imaging element of the intravascular imaging device; identifying the acoustic marker in the imaging data by determining a correlation between the imaging data and a template representative of the acoustic marker; adjusting an aspect of the control signal based on identifying the acoustic marker; and communicating the adjusted control signal to the actuator of the intravascular imaging device.

摘要: A portable ultrasound imaging system includes a scan head coupled by a cable to a portable battery-powered data processor and display unit. The scan head enclosure houses an array of ultrasonic transducers and the circuitry associated therewith, including pulse synchronizer circuitry used in the transmit mode for transmission of ultrasonic pulses and beam forming circuitry used in the receive mode to dynamically focus reflected ultrasonic signals returning from the region of interest being imaged.

摘要: A guidance device for ultrasonographic guidance of percutaneous placement of an intravascular introducer in a subject adapted for placement against the body of the subject essentially at a desired percutaneous insertion site is disclosed. A directing member is oriented such that the trocar or introducer received in the directing member provides for insertion of the trocar or introducer along a first axis. The guidance device is adapted to receive and releasably hold an ultrasonographic imaging probe such that a first axis of the directing member is positioned in a plane that is essentially perpendicular to and transversely crossing the imaging plane, and the directing member is coupled to the guidance device via an attachment member such that the directing member is configured to be movable only in the plane that is essentially perpendicular to the imaging plane.

摘要: A 3D positional registration system incorporates one or more sensor assemblies positionable at anatomical reference points on or within a patient during repeat examinations. One such sensor assembly includes a mounting base comprising at least one flexible tab, a mounting flange forming a bottom surface of the mounting base, and a ledge positioned between a top surface of the at least one flexible tab and the mounting flange. A sensor housing is positioned on the ledge and rotatably engaged with the mounting base. The sensor housing has a cavity sized to receive a positional sensor and the at least one flexible tab engages an upward-facing surface of the sensor housing.
