Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure propose an adaptive joint linear and non-linear digital filter that can adaptively estimate and reconstruct cascaded effects of linear and non-linear self-jamming distortions introduced by non-linearities in the transmit and/or receive chains. The proposed digital filter may be used to cancel second-order inter-modulation distortion (IM2) generated in the receive chain and/or harmonic distortion generated in the transmit chain, as well as other distortions introduced by the transmit/and or receive chains.
Abstract:
An endovascular conduit device and method for use during cardiac lead extraction and other vascular procedures is presented. The endovascular conduit device includes an outer-sheath, a conduit member, a lumen member, and an inflation member to control the flow of fluid within the conduit member. The endovascular conduit device may be positioned intravascularly as cardiac lead extraction or other procedures are performed. If necessary, as in the case of a vascular tear, the endovascular conduit device further includes expandable members that are activated to allow blood to be forced into the channel of the conduit member. Blood may then be contained and directed safely to bypass the area of vessel injury. In doing so, a catastrophic circulatory collapse or shock is prevented.

Abstract:
A wireless communication device for deriving a dynamic voltage scaling data profile is described. The wireless communication device includes memory that includes a dynamic voltage scaling voice profile. The wireless communication device also includes a data profile determination module coupled to the memory. The data profile determination module obtains an offset and derives a dynamic voltage scaling data profile by offsetting the dynamic voltage scaling voice profile based on the offset.
Abstract:
A force assessment device and a method for lead extraction are provided. A force gauge is configured to measure a traction force, and a strain gauge that is configured to measure a countertraction force. An interface is communicatively coupled to the force gauge and the strain gauge, and the interface is configured to present data regarding at least one of the traction force and the countertraction force.
Abstract:
The present invention describes the method and system for characterizing optical receivers based on the measured impulse response and by applying linear system theory. In a first embodiment, the impulse response of an optical receiver is obtained. Convolving the impulse response with band-limited input pulses (modeled with straight-line edge pulses), a receiver output pulse can then be determined. From this pulse, an associated eye diagram can be mathematically derived and the maximum ISI can be estimated. In a second embodiment, for a given input pulse stream with a specified amount of noise, the impulse response-generated eye diagram is used to estimate the bit error rate (BER) that the receiver would yield.
Abstract:
Techniques for optimizing the power consumption of existing low cost multi-gain state power amplifiers (PA) to increase the talk time of wireless communication devices are described. In an exemplary embodiment a device, such as a baseband processor, operates to set a multistage PA having at least two gain states for amplifying a transmit signal to a lowest power consuming gain state. The device calculates a transition power level as a function of an identified maximum power reduction (MPR) value and switches the PA to a higher gain state from a lower gain state when a transmission power level is higher than the calculated transition power level.
