摘要： A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a method for driving the LCD device are disclosed. The LCD device includes a frame rate adjusting circuit for controlling a frame rate to be maintained at a 1-fold rate in frame periods other than an Nth frame period (“N” is a multiple of 8 or more), while being increased to an “i”-fold-accelerated rate (“i” is a positive integer of 2 or more) in the Nth frame period, to output reference timing signals in the frame periods other than the Nth frame period, and to output accelerated timing signals in the Nth frame period, a timing controller for generating data and gate timing control signals, based on at least one of each reference timing signal and each accelerated timing signal, and a logic circuit for accelerating a frequency of a polarity control signal in the Nth frame period.

摘要： A disclosed display includes a display panel including a first group of data lines and second group of data lines, a plurality of gate lines crossing the first and a second groups of data lines, and a plurality of picture cells arranged in a matrix. The display also includes a first source PCB coupled to first data integrated circuits (ICs) to supply first data voltages to the first group of data lines and a second source PCB coupled to second data ICs to supply second data voltages to the second group of data lines. The display further includes a timing controller having a single output port with a plurality of output pins which are configured to output video data to both the first and second data ICs, and to output a timing control signal to control both the first and second data ICs. In addition, the display includes a first connection cable coupling the single output port of the timing controller to at least one of the first and second source PCBs to transmit the video data and the timing control signal from the timing controller to the at least one of the first and second source PCBs. The first data ICs and second data ICs are configured to generate the first and second data voltages, respectively, based on the video data and the timing control signal.

摘要： A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a driving method where the LCD device includes a data controller for interleaving one of black gray scale data and intermediate gray scale data into input digital video data to input digital video data in a specific period preceding a second one of two successive frame periods in which data voltages having the same polarity are successively supplied to liquid crystal cells. A timing signal controller generates a data timing signal and a gate timing signal, based on an input timing signal, and accelerates a frequency of the data timing signal and a frequency of the gate timing signal in the specific period. A data driving circuit is included for converting the interleaved digital video data into an analog voltage in response to the data timing signal, and supplying the analog voltage to data lines in the specific period.

The LCD device includes a data driving circuit for inverting a polarity of a data voltage in response to a polarity control signal, and supplying the polarity-inverted data voltage to an associated one of the data lines in response to a source output enable signal; a gate driving circuit for sequentially supplying a scan voltage to each of the gate lines in response to a gate output enable signal; and a controller for modulating the polarity control signal such that data voltages having the same polarity are respectively supplied to liquid crystal cells along one gate line in consecutive frame periods and generating the source output enable signal and the gate output enable signal.
