Abstract: A fuel tank system comprising a fuel tank, a number of fasteners, and a number of covers. The number of fasteners has a number of ends extending into an interior of the fuel tank. The number of covers is configured to cover the number of ends of the number of fasteners. A cover in the number of covers comprises a housing configured to cover an end of a fastener in the number of ends, a deformable material associated with an interior side of the cover, and cells that are present within the deformable material. The deformable material is configured to contain energy within the cover in which the energy is caused by an electromagnetic event.

Abstract: A compression molding assembly for molding a honeycomb core, including a plurality of cells defined by a plurality of walls, of a blocker door is provided. The compression molding assembly includes a ram plate comprising a plurality of openings defined therethrough and a plurality of core inserts coupled to the ram plate such that the plurality of core inserts are configured to form the honeycomb core of the blocker door. Each core insert is removably coupled with a respective opening of the plurality of openings such that each core insert is configured to form a respective cell of the plurality of cells.

Abstract: A system for electrostatically cleaning surfaces includes an electrostatically chargeable brush, having conductive polymer bristles, moveably disposed adjacent to a solid surface to be cleaned. The system also includes an actuator, configured to linearly move a solid element toward and through sliding contact along the solid surface, the brush being positioned to contact at least one of the solid surface and the solid element prior to the sliding contact, to electrostatically remove dust and the like therefrom.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for conducting an electrical current between a first transport member and a second transport member. In one illustrative embodiment, a coupling assembly comprises a first fitting associated with a first end of a first transport member, a second fitting associated with a second end of a second transport member, and a seal. The seal is configured for placement around the first fitting and the second fitting when the first end of the first transport member is positioned relative to the second end of the second transport member. Abstract: A method of applying an adhesive to a non-planar surface. The method includes providing a segmented film adhesive. The segmented film adhesive comprises: (i) a liner; and (ii) an adhesive layer on the liner, the adhesive layer comprising a plurality of contiguous, discrete adhesive segments. The segmented film adhesive is positioned on a non-planar surface of a first adherend so that a first portion of the discrete adhesive segments are in contact with the non-planar surface and a second portion of the discrete adhesive segments are not in contact with the non-planar surface. The liner is removed from the non-planar surface, wherein only the first portion of the discrete adhesive segments remain on the non-planar surface of the first adherend.
