    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a coil includes: a first step of connecting a plurality of first coils to one end of respective a plurality of connecting members; and a second step of inserting the first coils, which are connected to the respective connecting members, and a plurality of second coils into slots of a stator core, so that the second coils are connected to the respective connecting members, which have already been connected to the first coils. Further, in the second step, in a case where insert directions of the two first coils adjacent to each other to be inserted into the slots are different from each other, a sum of insertion amounts of the two first coils adjacent to each other is less than a total length of each of the slots.

    Abstract: A cooling system is provided. Coil ends protrude outward from a first end of a stator core in a direction along a central axis. An imaginary straight line is orthogonal to both of a central axis of a core body and an axis extending in an up-down direction. Half the coil ends above the imaginary straight line are in a first portion. Each of the segment coils in the first portion includes an outer peripheral surface that faces in a direction opposite from the central axis. The outer peripheral surface of each of the segment coils includes a twisted surface. The direction in which the twisted surface faces becomes closer to the direction facing the stator core as the twisted surface extends toward the first end of the stator core.

    Abstract: First-fourth slots may be provided in an inner circumferential surface of a stator core. A coil may include first-third segments conductor. Each of the conductors may include a U-shape. The first segment conductor may be inserted in the first slot and the second slot in a state where a coupling portion of the first segment conductor is located at a position facing a first end surface. The second segment conductor may be inserted in the second slot and the third slot in a state where a coupling portion of the second segment conductor may be located at a position facing a second end surface. The third segment conductor may be inserted in the third slot and the fourth slot in a state where a coupling portion of the third segment conductor may be located at a position facing the first end surface.

    Abstract: A stator includes a stator core and a coil. The coil has a first segment coil, a second segment coil having a wire diameter greater than a wire diameter of the first segment coil, and a crossover wire connecting the first segment coil and the second segment coil. The first segment coil is disposed in a slot radially innermost to the stator core. At least one second segment coil is disposed in the slot. The crossover wire has a changeover portion at which a wire diameter of the crossover wire changes from a wire diameter of the first segment coil to a wire diameter of the second segment coil.

    Abstract: A rotary electric machine includes a stator core having a plurality of teeth arranged in a row along a circumferential direction of the stator core, and a stator coil composed of a winding wire wound around the teeth. The stator coil includes coil end portions extending, outside the stator core in an axial direction thereof, along a substantially circumferential direction of the stator core, and straight portions extending along the axial direction, the straight portions being at least partially housed in a slot which is a void defined by two adjacent teeth of the plurality of teeth. In the rotary electric machine, a cooling groove is formed at least in the straight portion, the cooling groove functioning as a cooling channel through which a cooling fluid flows, and each straight portion includes only one cooling channel.
