    Abstract: A controller is installed in a vehicle. The vehicle includes an engine, rotary electric machine for power generation, rotary electric machine for propulsion, power storage device, inverter for power generation, and inverter for propulsion. The controller includes a drive control changing unit that changes drive control of at least one of the rotary electric machine for power generation and the rotary electric machine for propulsion, for reduction of a total value of a power-generation-side ripple current generated according to an operating state of the rotary electric machine for power generation, and a drive-side ripple current generated according to the operating state of the rotary electric machine for propulsion, when the total value is equal to or larger than a preset threshold value.

    Abstract: A control system for a vehicle to prevent a reduction in a drive force due to increase in an internal resistance of a battery. A controller calculates a command value of an output power of the battery to be transmitted to a motor in future, and predicts an internal resistance of the battery at the point to discharge the electric power from the battery in the amount of the command value. If it is expected that the battery will not be possible to discharge the electric power in the amount of the command value, the controller reduces a load on the battery by increasing an amount of the electric power supplied to the motor from the generator before the battery can no longer discharge the electric power in the amount of the command value.

    Abstract: A powertrain system includes a port injection internal combustion engine. A first start process is a process in which fuel is enclosed in a compression stroke cylinder when the engine is stopped, and based on a stored crank stop position, ignition is performed in a first cycle of the compression stroke cylinder upon engine start. A second start process is a process in which, based on the stored crank stop position, fuel injection is performed for an intake stroke cylinder while the engine is stopped, and based on the stored crank stop position, ignition is performed in the first cycle of the intake stroke cylinder upon engine start. When a catalyst temperature at the time engine start is requested is equal to or higher than a first threshold, a control device starts the internal combustion engine by at least one of the first start process and the second start process.
