摘要: An information recording disc has a control signal such as an address signal pre-recorded on a guide track which is pre-formed on the information recording disc at a position different from a track position where an information signal is to be recorded. An information signal recording apparatus for recording the information signal on such an information recording disc controls a rotation frequency of the information recording disc to a constant rotation frequency by locking a horizontal synchronizing signal within a composite video signal to edges of pulses reproduced from the guide track, and the information signal is recorded on the information recording disc so that a recording interval of the control signal is positioned within a vertical blanking period of the information signal at least including the composite video signal.

摘要: A disc comprises a recording surface which is divided into a plurality of equiangular sectoral regions and a guide track formed on the recording surface. Each track turn of the guide track is constituted by a row of pits formed in every other equiangular sectoral regions, and the pit is only formed in one of two mutually adjacent track turns of the guide track in each equiangular sectoral region so that the pits are formed in every other track turns in a radial direction of the disc in each equiangular sectoral region. An apparatus for playing the disc comprises a circuit for producing a switching pulse signal having a period dependent on a period of the pits of the guide track based on signals which are reproduced from the two mutually adjacent track turns by sub light beams, a circuit for alternately inverting a polarity of signals which are reproduced from the two mutually adjacent track turns by a main light beam for every one half period of the switching pulse signal and for generating a tracking error signal, a tracking device, and a device for recording and reproducing an information signal on and from an intermediate part of the disc between the two mutually adjacent track turns.

摘要: A method and apparatus for assembling an information signal on a rotary recording medium comprising a pre-recorded track recorded with pre-recorded information signals and an unrecorded track not recorded with information signals by use of a light beam in which an information signal to be newly recorded on the rotary recording medium is recorded continuously from the pre-recorded information signal already recorded on the pre-recorded track. The apparatus by use of a light beam searches for a pre-recorded track turn which is a portion of the pre-recorded track immediately preceding the unrecorded track and continuously reproduces the information signal from the searched pre-recorded track turn as it waits for a command signal commanding the recording of the information signal to be recorded. Responsive to the command signal, the apparatus terminates the repetition of the reproducing operation of the searched track turn and commences the recording on the unrecorded track turn following the searched pre-recorded track turn.

摘要: To detect an MSK modulation mark from an MSK-modulated wobble signal without fail. A wobble signal of an optical disk is supplied to an address decoding circuit. The address decoding circuit performs exclusive-OR operation of a binarized wobble signal and a reference clock signal generated from the wobble signal by an PLL circuit, to thus compute a proportion of the exclusive-OR result assuming a value of one every half period of a reference clock signal. When there are continuously present a predetermined number of sections or more where a proportion becomes a predetermined threshold proportion or more, the sections are detected as an MSK modulation mark. A system controller changes the threshold proportion in accordance with crosstalk from an adjacent track.

摘要: A high-definition optical disk and a high-definition optical disk drive, which record data on lands and grooves. Wobbles are formed in grooves and lands of an optical disk, and address information is embedded in the wobbles. The wobbles are formed so as to become in phase with each other in the grooves. An address of the land sandwiched between the grooves is detected from the wobble of the groove. When the wobble of the land is not an in-phase wobble but is of opposite phase, a gray code of the wobble is substituted with a binary address such that 0 is achieved when the gray code is converted into the binary address. As a result, even in the case of the wobble of opposite phase, the address information about the land is made coincident with address information about an inner-radius-side adjacent groove, thereby determining address information about the land.

摘要: In this optical disk device, a reflected light of a light beam reflected from a pre-pit-formed side of a track wobbled on a disk is detected as a first detection signal. A reflected light of the light beam reflected from the other side of the track is detected as a second detection signal. The first detection signal and/or the second detection signal are/is amplified with a gain(s) so set that a peak value of a wobble signal component of the first detection signal coincides with a bottom value of a wobble signal component of the second detection signal.

摘要: An optical disk device which drives HD-DVD or the like. In an HD-DVD type optical disk, address information is embedded in four wobble waves having the same phase. A wobble signal is detected by an optical pickup and demodulated by an address decoding circuit. The address decoding circuit detects an amount of phase difference of the wobble signal. The system controller sets an error flag in a bit in which the detected amount of phase difference exceeds a predetermined range. When a reading error is determined by means of CRC or the like, bit data replacement is performed with regard to the bit in which an error flag has been set, thereby correcting the error.
