A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed. The material is comprised of a support base having provided thereon a hydrophilic colloid layer and a silver halide emulsion layer. The silver halide emulsion layer contains tubular silver halide grains having a diameter at least 3 times their thickness and also contains a compound represented by general formula (I) or (II): ##STR1## the substituents are defined within the specification. The material obtains the advantages of utilizing tabular silver halide grains while having a reduced dependents of its photographic properties on development processing conditions which normally effect materials containing tabular silver halide grains.

A color image-forming process is disclosed, which comprises imagewise exposing a silver halide color photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one light-sensitive layer containing at least one coupler capable of forming a dye upon a reaction with an oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine color developing agent and a silver halide emulsion spectrally sensitized with a dye represented by the following general formula (I), (II) or (II), substantially excluding silver iodide, and containing about 80 mol % or more silver chloride, processing the exposed photographic material with a color developer, then processing it with a solution having a pH of not more than about 6.5 and having a bleaching ability within about 75 seconds: ##STR1## wherein the symbols have the meanings described hereinafter. A method for forming color images and silver halide color photographic material for use therewith are provided by the present invention. The method comprises imagewise exposing a silver halide color photographic material processing with a color developer and then successively processing with a solution having a bleaching ability and having a pH of about 6.5 or less for a period of time of about 75 seconds or less, wherein the silver halide color photographic material contains at least one light-sensitive layer on a support, the light-sensitive layer containing at least one coupler capable of forming a dye by the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine color developing agent and a silver halide emulsion which substantially excludes silver iodide but contains silver chloride in an amount of about 80 mol % or more and which has been spectrally-sensitized with a dye as represented by general formula (I), (II) or (III) described herein. The characteristic aspect of the present invention includes the high spectral sensitivity, the sufficient color forming property and desilvering property almost without the generation of fog, and the possibility of the rapid processing with a color developer which does not substantially contain benzyl alcohol.

Disclosed is a silver halide photographic material and forming an image using the same, containing a hydrazine derivative in the emulsion layer(s) or in other hydrophilic colloid layer(s). At least one silver halide emulsion comprises silver halide grains containing (a) from 1.times.10.sup.-8 to 1.times.10.sup.-6 mol, per mol of silver, of an iridium compound, and (b) from 1.times.10.sup.-8 to 1.times.10.sup.-6 mol, per mol of silver, of a rhodium compound or from 1.times.10.sup.-9 to 1.times.10.sup.-5 mol, per mol of silver, of a rhenium compound, ruthenium compound or osmium compound, and having a silver chloride content of 50 mol % or more, the emulsion having been color-sensitized with a sensitizing dye of the following general formulae (1), (2) or (3): ##STR1## The material may be processed with a stable developer to give a hard image having few "black peppers".
