Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of regulating mammalian target-of-rapamycin (mTOR) by regulating a phospholipase D (PLD) activity that generates a complex with mTOR. Further, the present invention also relates to a method of screening inhibitors of mTOR, and a method and a composition for treating mTOR-related metabolic diseases by inhibiting mTOR.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention provide a method for compensating for an acceleration vector offset of an acceleration detector, a recording medium storing a program for executing the method, and an apparatus adapted to perform the method. The method comprises determining whether the acceleration detector is in a stable resting state; if the acceleration detector is determined to be in a stable resting state, then determining whether any one of at least two orthogonal axes is a main axis; and, if the acceleration detector is determined to be in a stable resting state and one of the at least two orthogonal axes is determined to be a main axis, performing an acceleration vector compensation operation to compensate for the acceleration vector offset of the acceleration detector.
Abstract:
Disclosed are an embroidery fabric clamping unit for use with an embroidery machine, and an embroidery machine comprising the same, which allow the embroidering of even embroidery fabrics of arbitrary shape. The embroidery fabric clamping unit comprises: a unit body having a joining part provided for attachment to and detachment from a work table of the embroidery machine; an embroidery fabric support table which is linked to the unit body and supports the embroidery fabric to be embroidered by the embroidery machine; a lever which is supported on the unit body, with the embroidery fabric placed in between, and is able to apply pressure to and release pressure from the embroidery fabric support table; and a lever driving part for driving the lever.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an glucose uptake modulator, a pharmaceutical composition comprising the glucose uptake modulator, and a method of treating a diabetes or diabetic complications in a mammal in need thereof, which comprises administering to said mammal an effecting amount of a glucose uptake modulator.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to method of regulating mammalian target-of-rapamycin (mTOR) based on a novel finding of a regulating mechanism of mTOR by a phospholipase D (PLD), and Ras homolog enriched in brain (Rheb). Further, the present invention also relates to a method of screening inhibitors of mTOR, and a method and a composition for treating mTOR-related metabolic diseases by inhibitin mTOR.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a microwave oven. According to the present invention, a fixed heater 41 is installed on a ceiling of a cavity 31 of a microwave oven, and a pivotable heater 43 is installed to pivot upward and downward on its lower end in the cavity 31. When the pivotable heater 43 has been pivoted downward on its lower end, a grill 45 on which an object to be heated is seated is horizontally installed between a lower surface of the fixed heater 41 and an upper surface of the pivotable heater 43. A micro-switch 51, which will be pushed by the grill 45 and thus generate an actuating signal for pivoting the pivotable heater 43, is installed on a side surface of the cavity 31. According to the present invention, since the fixed and pivotable heaters 41 and 43 heat upper and lower surfaces of the object, respectively, and the pivotable heater 43 is pivoted according to whether the grill 45 is mounted or detached, it is possible to cook the object faster and more conveniently.
Abstract:
A tension mask assembly of a flat CRT is provided. The tension mask assembly includes a tension mask, which is placed to be opposite to a phosphor screen formed at an inner surface of a panel a predetermined distance from the phosphor screen and which serves to discriminate colors of electron beam; an aperture grill, which serves as an electron beam transmitting hole and which is formed on an effective surface of the tension mask having a slot or a dot shape; a rail which is supported by applying a predetermined tension to both ends of a long side part or short side part of the tension mask; a support bar, which supports both ends of the rail by being arranged in a direction that crosses with the rail and which has a support spring and a tamper wire disposed thereon; and a tension controlling member, which has a different rate of thermal expansion from the support bar and which is placed in a longitudinal direction against a side wall of a support bar.
