摘要: A method of measuring a surface leakage current includes applying a voltage between a pair of electrodes, which are apart from each other on a sample surface, during a predetermined period of time. A region of the sample surface between the pair of electrodes is irradiated by energy rays during an irradiation period of time which is within the voltage application time. The energy rays may be lasers, ultraviolet rays, X-rays or an electron beam. A current flowing between the pair of electrodes is measured during the voltage application time. The energy rays irradiation causes a surface leakage current, which is caused by adhered substances, to start to flow, and when the adhered substances have been eliminated perfectly, a relatively large current caused by the adhered substances disappears. Perfect elimination of the adhered substances can be verified by confirming that the relatively large current has disappeared.

摘要: In a sample assembly for a thermoelectric analyzer, typically TSC (Thermally Stimulated Current) analyzer, a sample is fixed to an electrically-insulating substrate via an adhesive layer. The material of the adhesive layer is indium or gold-tin alloy. The substrate has a pair of junction electrode layers formed thereon and a pair of electrode layers formed on the same plane of the sample. One of the electrode layers is connected with one of the junction electrode layers by electrically-conductive wire, while the other of the electrode layers is connected with the other of the junction electrode layers by another electrically-conductive wire. The substrate is made of preferably made of a highly electrically-insulating and highly thermally-conductive material which may be, for example, aluminum nitride (AlN), boron nitride (BN), beryllium oxide (BeO) or aluminum oxide (Al2O3). The sample may preferably be a compound semiconductor such as GaAs.

摘要: Provided is an endoscope that is capable of improving the ease of insertion by reducing the size of a distal end of an inserted portion, while ensuring a preferable observation field of view by improving the light distribution of illumination light. The endoscope employed has a tube-like inserted portion having a distal end; a light guide that is accommodated in the inserted portion and guides illumination light to the distal end; an illumination optical system that radiates the illumination light guided by the light guiding member and an objective optical system that collects light from a region illuminated by the illumination optical system, which are disposed at the distal end of the inserted portion, wherein an end portion of the light guide facing the plano-concave lens extends substantially parallel to an optical axis of the objective lens, and a shoulder portion of the distal end and an outer surface of the plano-concave lens located at the should portion are inclined so as to become narrower toward the tip.

摘要: An endoscope includes an image acquisition device, an objective optical system having a predetermined optical axis, first and second light guiding members that emit first and second illumination light, first and second optical systems that refract the first and second illumination light to intersect with the optical axis of the objective optical system, and a tube-like inserted portion having a distal end. The first and second optical systems are disposed at substantially mirror symmetrical positions at the distal end having a shoulder portion that becomes narrower toward the tip. When viewed from the optical axis direction of the objective optical system, the inclination directions at substantially the center of the outer surfaces of the first and second optical systems and straight lines that pass through the center of the objective optical system and the centers of the first and second optical systems form angles of 30° or less.

摘要: Memory devices, systems and methods implementing an architecture for partitioning a memory area of normally used memory cells and redundant memory cells are disclosed. A memory area is partitioned into a plurality of substantially equally sized sub-arrays of normally used memory cells and redundant memory cells. The groups of memory cells in a first portion of the sub-arrays are each selectable by a first quantity of select signals and a second portion of the sub-arrays are each selectable by a second quantity of select signals. One of the plurality of sub-arrays partially includes all of the groups of the redundant memory cells selectable by respective redundant select signals.
