摘要： A centrifuge includes a frame, a damper connected to and supported on the frame for isolating vibrations, a drive unit connected to and supported by the damper, a swing-bucket rotor rotated by the drive unit, an accelerometer for detecting when part of the drive unit contacts part of the frame due to vibrations of the drive unit exceeding a predetermined amplitude, and a control unit for controlling the drive unit based on output from the accelerometer. When amplitude of vibrations in the drive unit exceeds a predetermined value, a portion of the drive unit contacts a portion of the frame. The accelerometer detects an impact caused by the contact between the drive unit and the frame. The drive unit is halted when output detected from the accelerometer exceeds a threshold value for detecting imbalances.

摘要： In a centrifugal chamber 9, an elastic rotation shaft 30 and a high-rigidity rotation shaft 34 extend coaxially. When a rotor selected from an angle rotor 17 and a swing rotor 36 which have different sizes and shapes is set in the centrifugal chamber 9, an optimal shaft is connected automatically to the selected rotor. The angle rotor 17 having a low tendency toward mass eccentricity is supported and rotated by the elastic rotation shaft 30 for high-speed rotation. The swing rotor 34 having a high tendency toward mass eccentricity is supported by the high-rigidity shaft 34 for low-speed rotation. Rotation torque is transmitted to the swing rotor 34 from the elastic rotation shaft.

摘要： According to one embodiment, a semiconductor memory device includes a memory which comprises an area accessible from outside and a confidential information area storing confidential information and a set flag. A controller reads the flag from the memory when instructed to erase data in the confidential information area, determines whether the flag is set, erases data in the confidential information area when the flag is clear, and abandons process requested by the data erase instruction when the flag is set. An authenticator uses data in the confidential information area to execute operation for authentication.

摘要： According to this invention, a fingerprint sensor is mounted for fingerprint collation, and a movable protection unit which coverts the fingerprint sensor is arranged. In fingerprint authentication, the protection unit moves to expose the fingerprint sensor. Along with movement, the apparatus is powered on and activated, and the fingerprint sensor also operates to perform collation processing. The protection unit which covers the fingerprint sensor in normal use is formed by a member capable of handwriting input. This arrangement provides an information terminal apparatus which has a collation function and enables handwriting input.
