In a mammography system which includes a shield member for preventing radiation from being irradiated onto the face of the human subject, a radiation source which irradiates radiation is moved, such that, when radiation in two radiographing directions is irradiated from two focal positions distant from the chest wall of the human subject in a forward direction, the shield member is configured to be fixed at a predetermined position in the forward direction without being interlocking with the movement of the radiation source.

    摘要: Disclosed is a technique for correcting a pixel defect in the capture of two radiological images with parallax therebetween. Radiation beam is directly radiated to a radiation detector 15 in two radiographing directions, without passing through a subject, thereby acquiring two defect detecting radiological images. A pixel defect in each of the two defect detecting radiological images is detected in advance. A pixel position where the pixel defect occurs is stored in advance so as to be associated with each radiographing direction. Then, radiation beam is radiated to the subject from the two radiographing directions to acquire two radiological images for diagnosis. A target pixel which is disposed at the stored pixel position where the pixel defect occurs in each of the two radiological images for diagnosis is corrected.

    摘要: Image data transferred progressively can be processed efficiently. Image data are transferred progressively from an image server to a display terminal via a network. Images are progressively displayed on a monitor and a user views the images reproduced progressively on the monitor. The user inputs an interruption of transfer by using input means when a image has a sufficient resolution for reading. In response, the image server interrupts progressive transfer of the image data. In this manner, data at a resolution unnecessary for reading are not transferred after the interruption, and time necessary for data transfer can be shortened. In this manner, an efficient diagnosis can be carried out.

    摘要: A filtering process and an interpolating operation process are carried out in steps on an original image signal and, in the respective steps, a plurality of unsharp image signals are formed, which represent images having the same size as the size of the original image and have different frequency characteristics. Band-limited image signals are formed from the unsharp image signals and the original image signal, restricted by conversion, and integrated. An integration signal composed of predetermined frequency components of the original image signal is thereby formed. The frequency emphasis processing is carried out by multiplying the integration signal by an emphasis coefficient, and adding the resulting product to the original image signal. The dynamic range compressing process is carried out by converting a difference signal, which is obtained by subtracting the integration signal from the original image signal, and adding the converted difference signal to the original image signal. An artifact is thereby prevented from occurring at a region in the vicinity of an edge.
