    摘要: A method for manufacturing a solid-state image pickup device is provided. The image pickup apparatus includes a photoelectric conversion portion disposed on the semiconductor substrate, a first insulating film over the photoelectric conversion portion, functioning as an antireflection film, a second insulating film on the first insulating film, disposed corresponding to the photoelectric conversion portion, and a waveguide having a clad and a core whose bottom is disposed on the second insulating film. The method includes forming an opening by anisotropically etching part of a member disposed over the photoelectric conversion portion, thereby forming the clad, and forming the core in the opening. In the method, the etching is performed under conditions where the etching rate of the second insulating film is lower than the etching rate of the member.

    摘要: A pulsation damper mounted in a fuel chamber (23) of a high-pressure fuel pump (20) is provided with a diaphragm (11) having a flat section (11a) displaced when fuel pressure is applied thereto, a pump cover (10) for supporting the diaphragm (11), and a gas chamber (12) formed by the diaphragm (11) and the pump cover (10). Pressure pulsation occurring in the fuel chamber (23) is suppressed by displacement of the flat section (11a). The diaphragm (11) is formed in a closed-bottomed tubular shape with the flat section (11a) located at the bottom and has a projection (11b) provided to the periphery of the flat section (11a) and projecting to the side opposite to the pump cover (10). A tubular peripheral section extending from the outer periphery of the projection (11b) so as to be vertical to the flat section (11a) is fitted over the pump cover (10). The externally fitting portion of the tubular peripheral section is a joint section (11c) joined to the pump cover (10).

An address mark string including address marks is formed on the data recording medium. The address marks are spaced from each other by a distance depending on address data. The light application unit is configured to split the light beam into a first branch light beam and a second branch light beam and apply the first and second branch light beams to the address mark string at different angles. The photodetector unit is configured to detect first reflected light beams and second reflected light beams from the address mark string to generate image data. The first and second reflected light beams result from the first and second branch light beams, respectively. The control unit is configured to reproduce address data based on the image data.

    摘要: Multi-carrier transmission is performed without inserting a repetitive signal into guard interval periods. A transmitter provides guard interval periods by using a null signal to save transmission power and prevent the deterioration of the SN ratio. Delayed waves at the head of each received symbol cause high-frequency waves to occur and carriers to interfere with one another. Accordingly, a receiver adds a component following each received symbol to a delayed-wave component at the head of the received symbol. As a result, the delayed-wave component at the head of the received symbol and the added component become continuous in wave form and subcarriers do not interfere with each other.
