The communication hole provides communication between the inside and outside of the box-like body. Furthermore, the bulkhead member expands volume when the air inside of the waterproof box-like casing expands because of thermal expansion and contracts volume when the air inside of the waterproof box-like casing contracts because of thermal contraction.

摘要： This invention aims to provide a waterproof casing which can keep its waterproof function under a great change of temperature. In the waterproof casing, a lid (20) which covers an opening in a body (10) is provided with a pipe (24) which intercommunicates an interior and an exterior of the casing. A porous waterproof filter (25) closes a port (24a) in the pipe (24). Air in the body (10) is expanded and contracted under changes in temperature. However, only air can pass through the filter (25) into and out of the body (10) with water being precluded, thereby waterproofing the interior of the casing.

摘要： An electric connector assembly comprising plug and socket connectors adapted to be connected together. The socket connector includes a socket connector housing having an end portion adapted to be received within the receptacle in the plug connector housing and also having parallel passageways defined therein so as to open outwardly from the end portion thereof. Each passageway accommodates therein a socket terminal member. A retainer is releasably mounted on the end portion of the socket connector housing. This retainer carries at least one contact bridge member engageable with the socket terminal members to establish an electric circuit between the socket terminal members when the socket terminal members have been inserted completely into the passageways and the retainer has been completely mounted on the end portion of the socket connector housing. The plug connector housing having the receptacle defined therein may have an actuator member operable in response to an insertion of the end portion of the socket connector housing into the receptacle to disengage the contact bridge member from the socket terminal members thereby to open an electric circuit between the socket terminal members.

A relay box and a fusible link box which release heat are housed in a second compartment of the body. A cover for covering the body is similarly divided. Air is exhausted from the space through an intake pipe. Wire harnesses connected with the components are inserted through waterproof grommets. Heating of the electronic control unit by the engine and by the heat releasing components is minimized, and waterproofing is achieved.

摘要： When a car suffers a collision, a shock is applied to the body of an electrical connection box in the car. Due to the shock, an external force is applied horizontally to the peripheral wall of the body and the cover, thus crushing inverted V-shaped grooves formed on the bottom surface of the body and reducing the complementary angle .theta. between the two inclined surfaces of each inverted V-shaped groove. The external force applied horizontally to the peripheral wall of the body and the cover is also absorbed by the release of the cover from the body. The release of the cover from the body is accelerated by a force not absorbed by the deformation of the inverted V-shaped grooves but applied to the body vertically upwardly. Consequently, the effect of the external force applied to the electrical connection box is reduced. As a result of the absorption of the shock, a small degree of force is applied to a junction box or component in the box. Risk of damage to the junction box is reduced and disconnection of wiring from the junction box is unlikely.

The fuse unit further includes a predetermined locus where fuse element portions are to be formed later. A surface area of the fuse unit including the predetermined locus is then molded with an insulator material. Thereafter, the fuse element portions are formed at the predetermined locus by, for example, stamping. In this manner, the fuse unit can be manufactured easily at low costs, irrespective of the number and electrical capacity of the fuse element portions.

摘要： A fuse box device is provided that includes a fuse box and a fuse unit contained therein. The fuse unit includes an input terminal directly connectable to a battery, several output terminals connectable to a wire harness, and several fuse element portions. One end of the fuse element portions is formed unitarily and in one piece with the input terminal, while the other end of the fuse element portions is formed unitarily and in one piece with the output terminals. The fuse unit is contained in the fuse box such that only the input terminal projects out of the fuse box. In such a construction, the fuse box device requires a reduced number of spare parts, so that production costs can be lowered. Moreover, the fuse box device is better suited to a miniaturization and less susceptible to assembly errors.
