    摘要: A starter for an internal combustion engine comprises a starter motor. A drive shaft extends in coaxial relation to an armature shaft of the starter motor and has a projection extending radially outwardly from an axial end of the drive shaft adjacent the armature shaft. A pinion is in spline engagement with an outer periphery of the drive shaft and in meshing engagement with a ring gear of the engine. The rotation of the armature shaft is reduced in speed and transmitted to the drive shaft through a planetary gear type speed reducing mechanism. A center bracket comprises a cylindrical portion rotatably supported by one of the drive shaft and the armature shaft, and a disc-shaped portion extending radially outwardly from an axial end of the cylindrical portion. A shock absorber unit comprises a rotary disc and a spring disposed around the cylindrical portion of the center bracket. The rotary disc engages an internal gear of the planetary gear type speed reducing mechanism so as not to be rotatable, but to be axially movable with respect to the internal gear. The spring urges the rotary disc against the disc-shaped portion of the center bracket. The rotary disc and spring are retained by a retainer in their respective positions around the cylindrical portion of the center bracket.

    摘要: An angular position sensor is provided which is designed to an angular position of a rotary shaft. The angular position sensor has a magnet affixed to the rotary shaft. The magnet has an N-pole and an S-pole and is so geometrically shaped as to produce magnetic flux which is substantially uniform in amount within a range extending around each of centers of the N-pole and the S-pole. This improves the linearity of a change in sensor output upon rotation of the rotary shaft.

    摘要: An easy-to-assemble electric power steering device for automotive vehicles is provided which includes an electric motor, a controller, and a torque transmission mechanism. The controller controls a steering assist torque outputted by the motor. The torque transmission mechanism work to transmit the output of the motor to a steering shaft. The steering device also includes a support member which work to support the steering shaft and the controller within a shell. Specifically, the controller is not mounted directly on an inner wall of the shell, but retained by the support member, thus facilitating ease of electrical connection between electrical parts installed on the support member and a substrate of the controller after the substrate is mounted on the support member.

The power cables each have a large conductor size. A first shield is optionally provided around the flat signal cable. A second shield is optionally provided around the power cables.     摘要: In a load detecting device, a hermetically sealed sensor chamber is constituted by a sensor head, a bellows, a housing and a stem. A sensor chip for detecting pressure is housed in the sensor chamber that is filled up with liquid. When load is applied to the sensor head, the bellows contracts axially to vary pressure of the liquid. The sensor chip senses the pressure of the liquid so that the load applied to the sensor chamber is detected with higher detecting accuracy.
