    摘要： A document size detecting device with the arm which folds by interlocking with the reciprocating motion of the optical system of the image forming apparatus and extends and contracts by interlocking with the reciprocating motion of the optical system. The optical sensor for detection of the document size is installed at a prescribed position of the arm and the feeder line for the light source is held. Therefore, the special mechanism for holding the feeder line is not necessary and it is possible to achieve simplified construction of the image forming apparatus. Also, because the feeder line is caused to curve along the outside of the arm at the rotating section thereof, it is possible to provide a large radius of the bent portion of the feeder line, there will be no considerably concentrated stress which is locally applied to the feeder line, therefore the life of the feeder line can be extended.

    摘要： A fixing device is provided in image forming apparatuses such as a printer and the like and performs a fixing by heating to a recording sheet on which a toner image is transferred. The fixing device includes: a heating source adapted for performing fixing of a toner image onto a recording medium by heat; a fixing roller including a thin-wall cylinder rotatable about an axis thereof and carrying the heating source therein, the recording medium being placed on a peripheral surface of the cylinder; an annular heat-insulating member coaxially mounted on an outside surface of the fixing roller; and a C-shaped stopper attached to the peripheral surface of the fixing roller for preventing the annular heat-insulating member from moving out of the fixing roller, the C-shaped stopper including at least three engaging portions.

    摘要： An automatic document feeding apparatus of the present invention is arranged such that a transportation unit 24 (enclosing a pre-feeding roller 25, a pair of paper feeding rollers 26, a pair of resist rollers 27, a reading section 28, a pair of discharging rollers 29, etc.) is attached to a framework member 65 (a stay 66, a front-end plate 7, a rear-end plate 68, etc.) not fixedly, but in such a manner that at least the rearward end of the transportation unit 24 is capable of displacements in a vertical direction with respect to the framework member 65. Consequently, when the framework member 65 causes deflection, such deflection caused on the framework member 65 will not adversely affect an attachment state of the transportation unit 24.

    摘要： An automatic document conveyer comprising a moving frame turnably mounted on a machine housing via a hinge mechanism and a conveyer belt mechanism mounted on the moving frame. The conveyer belt mechanism includes a support frame, a drive roller and a driven roller arranged in the support frame, and a conveyer belt wrapped round the drive roller and the driven roller. The support frame of the conveyer belt mechanism is so supported as to be moved by a predetermined amount toward the side opposite to the hinge mechanism while the end of the conveyer belt on the side of the hinge mechanism reaches to the closed position after having come in contact with the transparent plate at the time when the moving frame is turned toward the closed position.
