摘要： A process for producing sodium carboxymethylcellulose having an excellent dispersibility in water by heat-treating sodium carboxymethylcellulose to crosslink the same. The starting sodium carboxymethylcellulose has an equivalent ratio of the free carboxylic acid group to the sodium carboxylate of at least 0.01 to 100 and a viscosity of at least 100 cP (as a 1% aqueous solution).
