There is provided a toner composition which comprises a binder and a colorant, wherein said binder comprises a copolymer of a vinyl aromatic monomer; a second monomer selected from the group consisting of conjugated diene monomers or acrylate monomers selected from the group consisting of alkyl acrylate monomers and alkyl methacrylate monomers; a third monomer which is a crosslinking agent; a fourth monomer which is an adhesion promoting vinyl monomer containing a hydroxyl group; and a fifth monomer which is a charge control vinyl monomer containing an amine group. In a preferred embodiment, the binder further comprises the acid form of an amino acid soap which is the salt of an alkyl sarcosine having an alkyl group which contains from about 10 to about 20 carbon atoms. In additional preferred embodiments, the toner compositions of the invention further include a charge control agent. In other preferred embodiments, the toner compositions of the invention are used with a carrier. The toner compositions show a good combination of adhesion and charge stability.

Development systems and methods for developing using toner are disclosed. The present invention further discloses developers used in development systems. With respect to the development system, a development system is disclosed which includes a supply of dry developer mixture which contains toner particles and hard magnetic carrier particles. The development system further includes a non-magnetic, cylindrical shell for transporting the developer between the supply and the development zone, wherein the shell can be rotatable or stationary. A rotating magnetic core of a pre-selected magnetic field strength and means for rotating at least the magnetic core to provide for the transport of the toner particles from the shell to an electrostatic image also provided as part of the development system. The development system of the present invention further includes a fuser roll which is coated with a silicone rubber or other low surface energy elastomer or resin. The fuser roll is preferably in a pressure contact arrangement with a backup or pressure roll. The images resulting from the development system of the present invention have an excellent combination of properties, in particular, the prints resulting from the development process of the present invention have improved image quality in combination with excellent fusing quality. A method for developing electrostatic images with toner is further disclosed, for example, involving the above-described development system.

The tactile printed image by depositing tactile marking material onto the receiver medium, wherein no tactile marking material is deposited onto portions of the receiver medium corresponding to image pixels having a first state, and tactile marking material is deposited onto portions of the receiver medium corresponding to image pixels having the second state. The receiver medium has a first coefficient of friction, and the portions of the tactile printed image having deposited tactile marking material are raised by at least 20 microns relative to the surface of the receiver medium and have a second coefficient of friction which differs from the first coefficient of friction by at least 0.06.

A composite color toner image can be enhanced by applying a separate fluorescing toner image over it to provide an enhanced color toner image having a “pinkish” fluorescing effect. This separate fluorescing toner image is obtained using visible fluorescing dry magenta toner particles. Each of these toner particles consists essentially of a polymeric binder phase and a visible fluorescing colorant that emits at one or more peak wavelengths of at least 510 nm and up to and including 590 nm and that is dispersed within the polymeric binder phase.

The toner comprises particles having a resistance allowing triboelectric charging or a resistance allowing inductive charging, wherein said metallic particles are nanoparticles having a mean particle size below approximately 500 nm in at least one direction. In the method, a continuous layer of the dry toner is applied to a substrate in a desired shape of an antenna via an electrophotographic printing process, and subsequently the toner is fused to the substrate by heating the toner above its glass transformation temperature. The dry toner for use in producing an antenna for an RFID device comprises toner particles having a resistance allowing triboelectric charging or a resistance allowing inductive charging. The toner particles comprise a polymeric binder and metallic particles, wherein said metallic particles are nanoparticles having a mean particle size below approximately 500 nm in at least one direction.
