    摘要: The invention relates to a multi-staged overvoltage protection circuit, in particular for information-technology systems, comprising at least one coarse protection element and at least one fine protection element, wherein the at least one fine protection element can be activated by a triggering device depending on a threshold. According to the invention, the applied operating voltage is led to an evaluation device, which generates a reference voltage. Also provided is an evaluation unit, firstly for checking to see whether the current operating voltage is above the reference voltage, secondly for checking to see whether the voltage excess exceeds a previously determined level, and thirdly for establishing whether the rate of change of the operating voltage is greater than another previously determined value so that a transient overvoltage exists, wherein the triggering device then receives an activation signal from the evaluation device.

The signal processing circuitry includes deletion circuitry for deleting, from the received scanner output signals, signals having less time duration than a predetermined time duration. The signal processing circuitry also includes one or both of first ratio computation means for computing a ratio of characteristics of adjacent of the received scanner output signals and second ratio computation means for computing a ratio of characteristics of non-adjacent of the received scanner output signals.

The system (1) acquires, via a barcode imager, an image of the item within the field of view of the barcode imager, (2) analyzes the acquired image to determine a set of potential barcode fields, (3) determines, using a predetermined criterion (e.g., distance from center of imaged area, type of bar code, etc.), a candidate barcode field from among the set of potential barcode fields, (4) displays a modified image derived from the acquired image, wherein the candidate barcode field is identified within the modified image, and (5) allows the user to initiate a decode session when the candidate barcode field includes the desired barcode. The acquired may be modified to highlight the candidate barcode field in any number of ways, including, for example, superimposing an artificial reticule around the candidate field, superimposing an artificial scan line over the field, altering the contrast of the field, and/or altering the brightness of the field.
