The device, according to one embodiment, comprises first electrical terminals adapted to be connected to the subscriber premises wiring, second electrical terminals adapted to be connected to the incoming telephone wiring, a removable module disposed between the first and second electrical terminals, the module having space for a telephone circuit and the module having electrical connections for connecting the module with the second terminal; a cable coupled to the first terminals, the cable including a plug at an end of the cable distant from the first terminals, and a jack located on the module adapted to receive the plug, the jack being electrically coupled to the electrical connections for connecting the module with the second terminal. The network interface device may be disposed within an enclosure and the enclosure may have individual access panels so that an individual subscriber can access its terminals and not the terminals of other subscribers.

    摘要: Individual security subscriber line module including a generally rectangular, hollow box-like structure including a top, bottom, opposed sides and opposed first and second ends, such structure providing an internal space for receiving an individual circuit; a pair of subscriber wiring terminals mounted on the top for connection to a subscriber line, a plug connected to the pair of subscriber wiring terminals by first electrical conductors; a jack mounted on the top and provided with second electrical conductors for connecting the jack to the incoming telephone company line, the jack for having the plug plugged therein to interconnect the pair of subscriber wiring terminals and thereby the subscriber line to the incoming telephone company line and the plug for being unplugged from the jack to provide a demarcation point between the subscriber line and incoming telephone company line, and upon the plug being unplugged from the jack the jack for receiving the plug of an operating telephone to facilitate determination of whether a fault exists on the subscriber line or the incoming telephone company line; and mounting structure for mounting the module removably to a telephone network interface apparatus for ready removal. The individual subscriber line module may be provided with an individual security cover mounted pivotally on one end of the top of the box-like structure and for being covering and being locked over the pair of subscriber terminals, and may include safety structure for preventing ringing voltage shock hazard to the subscriber.

Two embodiments of replaceable individual subscriber line modules are included; one module is provided with a lockable subscriber security cover for denying other subscribers access to the individual subscriber's line terminals.

    摘要: A multiline telephone test receptacle for allowing testing of more than one telephone line connected to the receptacle in a convenient manner, for example, with a single line telephone set, without requiring special connections. In one embodiment, a movable member having an opening which is positionable in two positions over a telephone jack cavity allows contacts of a telephone plug to engage different ones of the telephone lines connected to the jack in the two positions, thus providing a convenient means for testing the two lines. In another embodiment, the contacts of the telephone jack cavity are disposed on a movable member and the opening is fixed. The telephone test receptacle can be expanded to allow testing of more than two lines.

    摘要: A telephone network interface enclosure adapted to interconnect incoming telephone wiring to subscriber premises wiring. The device, according to one embodiment, comprises a base having a wall circumscribing a bottom portion of the base; the base having a first area containing first electrical terminals adapted to be connected to subscriber premises wiring and the base having a second area containing second electrical terminals adapted to be connected to incoming telephone wiring; a first cover covering the entirety of the base, the first cover being exposed to the exterior; a second cover disposed beneath the first cover, the second cover only enclosing the second area of the base; a cable coupled to the first terminals and located in the first area of the base, the cable including a plug at an end of the cable means distant from the first terminals; a jack means located in the first area of the base and adapted to receive the plug means, the jack means being electrically connected to the second terminals; the first cover removably fastened to the second cover by a first fastener; the first fastener comprising a deformable clip; the second cover removably fastened to the base by a second fastener, whereby the first fastener may be undone to open only the first cover to allow access to the first area of the base only and the second fastener may be undone to allow both the first and second covers to be opened as a unit, allowing complete access to the interior of the base. In another embodiment, a third fastener is used in addition to the first fastener for removably coupling the first and second covers.

The layer of conductive material is connected to an electrical supply means by at least one electrode which has an embossed surface with protuberances that make direct contact with the layer of conductive material.
