摘要： A typewriter correction tape cartridge for holding and feeding correction tape for a correcting typewriter is improved by the addition of a beam spring cantilever supported such that one end of the beam spring wipes the correction tape onto the takeup spool. This will act to eliminate bubbles, wrinkles and crimps in the tape as it is placed in a new convolution on the spool and will thus reduce the outside diameter of the ultimate disc of used tape. The advantage of this spring is that a reduced size cartridge may be used while utilizing the entire volume of tape supplied on the supply side of the cartridge and, secondly, a more reliable takeup is accomplished due to the elimination of irregularities in the takeup disc. Where space considerations dictate that the spring be bent back sufficiently to accommodate a full spool without contacting the disc of ribbon accumulated on the takeup spool, the cross section of the spring, at a point near the anchor point, may be reduced by notching to provide a stress concentrated flex point and allow the spring member to still perform its function without premature engagement with the disc at a point other than at the wiper end.

摘要： A device for facilitating sublistatic printing which includes an elastic member for covering an arcuate article surface to be imprinted in a stretched condition, holding a sublistatic transfer sheet against the article surface, and exerting a uniform pressure against the transfer sheet and article surface to achieve intimate contact therebetween; and an installing apparatus, one form of which includes a frame, band receiving means supported by the frame, two operating arms rotatably mounted to the frame, an article receiving member carried by the frame, and means associated with the arms to hold the elastic member. The arms are selectively movable from an elastic member receiving position to a transfer sheet receiving position to an article surface covering position. The elastic member is stretched prior to placement around the article surface to be imprinted and is provided with appropriate means to be releasably secured around the article. The article with the covering elastic member can be removed from the article receiving member, subjected to heat and sublistatically imprinted with the design or intelligence carried by the transfer sheet.

摘要： A system for automatically bending wire into arcuate segments of different selected configurations utilizing a wire bending roll displaceable selectively by a stepping motor which is controlled by a microprocessor to bend a length of wire conforming to data retrieved from a computer. The wire is selectively advanced to a shear assembly where it is severed to a specific length and advanced through feed rolls towards the bending roll. Detection of the advancing severed length of wire locks in a strobe gear and the microprocessor with the stepping motor to determine the position of the wire with respect to the bending roll and to incrementally displace the bending roll in a controlled manner along an arcuate path to produce the desired bend in the wire.

The wire member of each support frame is formed in a preselected, prescribed configuration and plastic protective end caps are adhered to the wire member end portions in a selected manner.
