Abstract:
An improvement in a tool of the type which is adapted for connection into a drilling string, which tool is adapted to perform a function in the drilling string as a first function. The improvement is a magnetic field source incorporated with the tool so that the tool is adapted to perform a magnetic field source carrying function as a second function. The first function is unrelated directly to the second function.
Abstract:
This invention generally relates to compositions and method of producing diluted hypohalous acid and hypohalous acid vapor. These compositions can be used to treat allergen containing surfaces, hard surfaces, food contact surfaces, hospital surfaces, food surfaces, kitchen surfaces, bathroom surfaces, human surfaces, animal surfaces, children's items, outdoor surfaces, soft surfaces, and medical instruments. These compositions can be converted to solid particulate or granular compositions. These compositions can be put into a variety of containers which preserve the stability. These compositions can be used to treat allergens and molds and as part of a mold detection system. These compositions can be dispersed into the air to enable microbiological control.
Abstract:
Provided is a liquid dispensing package for a container adapted to contain a liquid that includes a hand operated pump coupled to an actuator, a liquid distribution subsystem in fluid communication with a discharge tube from the pump, wherein depression of the actuator causes liquid to travel through the discharge tube to the actuator top surface. Various liquid distribution pathways from the container to the actuator top surface are utilized. The dispensing package further includes a gravity-flow liquid drain-back subsystem that provides for liquid on the actuator top surface to flow to the container. Various liquid drain-back pathways from the actuator top surface to the container are utilized. The gravity-flow liquid drain-back pathway utilized is distinct from the liquid distribution pathway utilized in the dispensing package.
Abstract:
Provided is a liquid dispensing package for a container adapted to contain a liquid that includes a hand operated liquid transport assembly coupled to an actuator, a liquid distribution subsystem in fluid communication with a discharge tube from the liquid transport assembly, wherein downward motion of the actuator, provided by a user, causes liquid to travel through the discharge tube to the actuator top surface, and a liquid draw-back subsystem wherein upward motion of the actuator, provided by a return spring, permits draw-back of liquid from the top surface of the actuator.
Abstract:
Provided is an actuator for use with an aerosol can drain clearing device that removes a drain blockage with pressurized gas contained in the aerosol can. The actuator includes an actuator piece with an actuator dome having a dome aperture therethrough and at least one sidewall that circumscribes the dome aperture. One end of the sidewall is slanted and forms a gas-tight seal with a sink drain flange circumscribing a sink drain. In one embodiment, the actuator includes a coupling piece configured to slidably coupled to the actuator piece at one portion of the coupling piece. In use with a pressurized gas aerosol can, the aerosol can is coupled to another portion of the coupling piece.
Abstract:
Specific netrin proteins, nucleic acids which encode netrin proteins and hybridization reagents, probes and primers capable of hybridizing with netrin genes and methods for screening chemical libraries for lead compounds for pharmacological agents useful in the diagnosis or treatment of disease associated undesirable cell growth are provided. An exemplary screen involves forming a mixture comprising a recombinant netrin protein, a natural intracellular netrin protein binding target, and a candidate pharmacological agent; incubating the mixture under conditions whereby, but for the presence of said candidate pharmacological agent, said netrin protein selectively binds said binding target; and detecting the presence or absence of specific binding of said netrin protein to said binding target.
Abstract:
A brush alignment apparatus and method of using the same for aligning a hollow cylindrical brush on a cylindrical roller member comprising first and second ends and an outer surface defining a internal cavity, provided with a plurality of orifices extending from the outer surface to the internal cavity, a first receptacle having a channel running therethrough in fluid communication with the first end of the roller member, a second receptacle, a spine member, a first support arm supporting the first end of the roller member and a second arm supporting the second end of the roller member. In operation, the brush is applied onto the surface of the roller such that the inner surface of the brush and the outer surface of the roller are in frictional communication with one another, a layer of fluid is generated between the surfaces of the roller and the brush sufficient to substantially dissipate any frictional contact between the brush and the roller, the layer is maintained between the surfaces of the roller and the brush for sufficient time and at sufficient strength to allow the brush to attain a position of static alignment, at which time the layer is allowed to dissipate thereby returning the brush to a position of frictional communication with the surface of the roller, while substantially retaining it in a state of static alignment.
