Abstract:
A manual-scanning image reader which optically reads image such as characters and figures from a written surface by a manual scanning over said written surface, which consists of the following parts; a sensor for detecting the amount of movement of the image reader in the scanning direction as a linear movement sensor, a sensor for detecting the amount of deviation of the image reader in the direction perpendicular to the scanning direction as a deviation sensor and a device for reading in image data synchronously with output signals from the linear movement sensor in order to correct the input image data according to the output signals from the deviation sensor before eventually storing it in memory.
Abstract:
A coded information reading device for reading code pattern displayed on a CRT display unit of a television receiver and for outputing information signals corresponding to the code pattern includes a suction cup to be attached to the surface of the CRT display unit and a photo sensor integrally installed in the suction cup for reading the code pattern displayed on the CRT display unit.
Abstract:
An image input processor having a detector which detects whether or not the rate of the width of a character or characters are cut off from the read character information with respect to the readable width being over a predetermined value. Also, the image input processor has a printer which prints the cut-off character or characters when the detected rate is over the predetermined value, and prohibits printing of the cut-off character or characters when the detected rate is less than the predetermined value. Whereby necessary information and unnecessary information can be distinguished from each other based on the degree of the read image information that is cut off.
Abstract:
A data processing device for reading a code signal output from the image output screen of a video receiver. The device is provided with a read controller to synchronize the code signal reading operation with the code signal display timing of the video receiver.
Abstract:
A display data processing device for processing bar code data displayed on a display screen such as a television monitor by an interlaced scanning process includes a photosensor for reading bar code data displayed on the screen, a counter circuit for counting the coded data bits read by the photosensor means to determine whether the data is displayed by an odd-number field or an even-number field and which produces a signal corresponding to the result of the determination. This signal is used in conjunction with a plurality of timer circuits which provide signals corresponding to the duration of odd and even number field scanning periods to ensure accurate storing of data in a shift register which is provided with the output signals of the photosensor.
Abstract:
A photoelectric rotary encoder comprises some optical sensor pairs of light emitting elements and light receiving elements, a rotary disc formed with a plurality of slits at a first pitch, and a fixed plate provided with some slits at a second pitch. The first pitch is greater than the second pitch. Preferably, the difference between the first pitch and the second pitch is smaller than a half of the first pitch.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a print density control for use in a thermal printer, which control is responsive to variation in a supply voltage for assuring a uniform print density. The control includes a voltage-to-frequency converter for varying the frequency of an output signal in accordance with the amplitude of the supply voltage to the print head. An enabling voltage is applied to the print head until a count characteristic of the frequency of the output signal from the voltage-to-frequency converter reaches a predetermined value. By controlling the conduction duration of the print head in response to variations in the supply voltage, the thermal energy conveyed from the print head to a heat sensitive sheet is fixed to thereby assure uniform print density. In a preferred form, there are further provided a control circuit for permitting voltage supply to the print head until the count reaches the predetermined value and for varying the current conduction duration of the print head as a function of variations in the supply voltage to the print head. Accordingly, the strength of thermal energy being supplied to the print head is kept constant regardless of variations in the supply voltage to the print head.
Abstract:
Novel cyano substituted diphenoquinones of the formula, ##STR1## wherein X is a bromine atom or a cyano group, are useful as oxidizing agents and electron acceptors in charge-transfer complex formation owing to their high redox potentials. They may be easily prepared by oxidizing the corresponding cyano substituted biphenols with dinitrogen tetraoxide in an inert organic solvent.
Abstract:
Thers is disclosed a manual scan type image reader for reading a document image by manually moving an image sensor for optically reading the image in a predetermined manual scan direction, converting the read document image into document image data, and outputting the converted document image data to an external unit. In the image reader, there is provided a ruler body including an image reading window for seeing the image therethrough formed on a bottom surface thereof so as to be opened to a top surface thereof, and plural scale lines printed with predetermined equal pitches in the manual scan direction on a bottom surface thereof. A scanner is mounted on the ruler body for movement in the manual scan direction, and the scanner includes the image sensor for reading the document image and the plural scale lines and converting them into document image data and scale image data, respectively. An image reading controller of the image reader corrects the document image data converted by the image sensor according to the scale image data converted by the image sensor so as to reproduce further document image data corresponding to the document image with predetermined equal pitches between the adjacent scale lines of the converted scale image data.
Abstract:
An image reader of manual scan type for a portable copier is disclosed. The image reader comprises a reading head for scanning a document manually, memory means for storing image data read by the reading head, write control means for writing said image data into the memory means and a printer. The image reader further comprises image data processing means for adjusting image data obtained by the image sensor so as to form a noise free image upon writing image data into the memory means. Also the image data processing means operates to delete image data of a reference line indicative of a manual scan starting position.
