摘要： An advertisement selecting system is disclosed providing, when selecting advertisements to be exposed to subscribers over the Internet, exposure control reflecting the inventory of advertisements by taking into account results of past exposure of each of the advertisements. When subscribers with a particular profile biased to specific tastes or preferences gain access to contents carrying advertisements, the first-ranked advertisement, i.e., the one best targeted for the subscribers in question, is exposed repeatedly but in a manner also making way for the advertisements in second and subsequent places which would be less likely to be exposed if handled conventionally, so that the stocked advertisements are exposed in fairly averaged fashion. Advertisement exposure is thus controlled in a manner averting lopsided exposure of certain (or partial) advertisement information by giving consideration to the advertisement inventory.

摘要： An information providing apparatus is disclosed which provides contents to an information processing apparatus connected via a network, the information providing apparatus including, a generating device generating sample data including metadata about contents ready to be provided, before transmitting the generated sample data to the information processing apparatus, and a providing device providing the information processing apparatus with contents selected from the ready contents in accordance with preferences of a user of the information processing apparatus, the user preferences being derived from a result of evaluation of the sample data by the information processing apparatus, and wherein the information processing apparatus includes, an evaluating device for evaluating the sample data transmitted from the information providing apparatus, the evaluation being made in accordance with the user preferences, before transmitting the result of the evaluation to the information providing apparatus, and an output controlling device for outputting the contents which have been transmitted from the information providing apparatus after being selected thereby based on the user preferences derived from the evaluation result.

摘要： An information processing method is disclosed which includes the steps of: (a) calculating levels of similarity between a standard form vector as a comparison basis vector and each of a plurality of item characteristic vectors of the standard form which are characteristic of a plurality of items, the standard form vector being made up of N components individually representative of N attributes of each of the plurality of items, N being an integer of at least 1, step (a) further determining as the items to be recommended to a user a plurality of items corresponding to the item characteristic vectors of which the level of similarity satisfies a first condition; (b) determining one of the N attributes of the plurality of recommended items determined in step (a) as a common recommendation reason common to the plurality of recommended items when the determined attribute satisfies a second condition; and (c) controlling presentation to the user of either the plurality of recommended items determined in step (a) or information about the recommended items, together with the common recommendation reason determined in step (b).

摘要： Systems and methods for correcting a location of a terminal are provided. In various aspects, a processor in a position correction apparatus may associate a reference position with the terminal, and determine a range for the terminal based on the reference position. The processor may also associate a second position with the terminal, and determine if the second position associated with the terminal is outside the determined range for the terminal based on the reference position. Upon a determination that indicates that the second position is outside the determined range, the processor may correct the second position to a corrected position associated with the terminal.

摘要： Systems and methods for correcting a location of a terminal are provided. In various aspects, a processor in a position correction apparatus may associate a reference position with the terminal, and determine a range for the terminal based on the reference position. The processor may also associate a second position with the terminal, and determine if the second position associated with the terminal is outside the determined range for the terminal based on the reference position.
