摘要: An improved portable battery powered therapy applicator which applies a high frequency electromagnetic field to a living tissue for promoting hematogenous effects. The applicator is in use to be attached to the skin of a patient and has a casing encapsulating therein, in addition to the battery, an antenna for directing the high electromagnetic field and electronic components forming an oscillator which energizes the antenna. These parts are mounted on a substrate which is made of a rigid material sufficient to resist deflection or deformation in order to protect the antenna on the substrate from deforming or receiving considerable stress at the time of detaching the applicator from the skin. Thus, the antenna can be kept free from breaking even through repeated operations of detaching the applicator, greatly enhancing reliability and prolong an operation life of the applicator.

摘要: Apparatus is described for measuring both the systolic and diastolic blood pressure of an individual. A pressurable cuff having an additional tightening band for advantageously positioning a cuff and microphone on an artery is described. The microphone is connected to first the second filters having respective passbands for analyzing the frequency content for recovered pulse signals. The apparatus provides for automatic pressurizing and depressurizing of the cuff whereby the artery is occluded and opened to permit passage of the blood flow. The pressure at the time of receipt of signals from the filters is measured as the systolic pressure. The diastolic blood pressure is measured with apparatus in accordance with the invention by monitoring signals from one of the filters.

摘要: A sphygmomanometer is provided with an automatic pressure inflation and deflation means for feeding a pressurized air into a cuff wound on the upper arm or the like so as to close the arterial blood flow. Korotkoff's sounds are detected during an interruption of the pressurized air feeding. The air is intermittently repressurized so long as the Korotkoff's sounds can be detected, and is switched over to an exhausting state when the Korotkoff's sounds are no longer detected. The systolic/diastolic blood pressure values are detected during the exhausting state and are digitally indicated. A continuous sound is generated until the Korotkoff's sounds reappear, and thereafter a sound is generated which is synchronized with Korotkoff's sounds.

摘要: Disclosed is an exhaust valve having an approximately constant rate of pressure loss per unit time which is particularly useful with an automatic sphygmomanometer. A pair of abutting plates are provided in a fluid flow path. The plates are pressurized into contact with each other at least in part by a pressurized fluid to be exhausted through the valve. At least one of the plates is formed of a resilient material and a gap-forming member is disposed between the abutting plates to define an exhaust passage which has a cross section which varies as the pressure of the pressurized fluid varies.

摘要: A fluid pump has a pumping member which defines the boundary of a pump chamber and is driven to reciprocate between the positions of expanding and contracting the pump chamber for drawing in the pump chamber a fluid and feeding it into a vessel to be pressurized thereby. The pumping member is connected to the output shaft of a reversible motor through a driving linkage capable of translating the rotary motion of the output shaft into the reciprocating motion of the pumping member. A release valve is provided in a fluid path between the pump chamber and the vessel for rapidly releasing the pressurized fluid out of the vessel. The release valve is operatively connected to the motor output shaft through a release valve actuator which responds to the reversal of the motor for opening the release valve and has a delay mechanism providing a delayed response action in opening the release valve so that the initiation of opening the release valve is inhibited until the output shaft rotates in the reverse direction through an angle of more than 180 degrees from the reversing point, thereby inhibiting an unintended opening of the release valve due to the reverse translation of the reciprocating motion of the pumping member because of kickback by pressurized fluid in the pump chamber when the motor is stopped.

摘要: A running machine is provided which comprises a mat member which is actuated by the tread of an exerciser so as to produce an output signal. A running circuit processes this output signal and produces a first signal when the OFF time interval of the output signal is longer than a predetermined time interval, thereby distinguishing "running" from "walking". A flying time defining circuit, included in the running circuit, defines the predetermined time interval in order to adjust the quantity of motion to be spared in the stepping and an indicating section processes the first output signal from the running circuit to indicate the number of steps.
