摘要: In a process to design high temperature cement sluries, the temperature stable phases (anorthite, wairakite) are selected; aluminum modifiers and silica oxides are added to the dry cement so that the elemental composition of the blend corresponds to the phases selected; the control of the particle size distribution and the relative amount of those minerals allow their addition at high concentration while leaving the slurry easily mixable and pumpable; and the kinetics of the targeted phases formation is then controlled by adjusting the crystallinity and the particles sizes of the different solids.

摘要: It is proposed a method for completing an unconsolidated interval, including particulates, in a subterranean formation, including a consolidation steps. The consolidation step is performed by injection of an aqueous solution of colloidal particles with a pH modifier and/or an ionic-strength modifier. A hard gel is formed that holds the particulates together. The consolidation is followed by hydraulic fracturing. Diversion towards area of less permeability may be enhanced by the use of micrometric particles.

摘要: A sand consolidation system and a method for use of the system is provided. The consolidation system includes an emulsion having an oil phase and an aqueous phase, wherein the emulsion contains a source of insoluble silica particles and a source of calcium hydroxide, wherein the calcium hydroxide particles are present in the oil phase, and the insoluble silica particles are contained in the aqueous phase. Both types of particles must have average particle sizes which will fit into the pores of the formations.

摘要: A formation consolidation process is described which comprises injecting into an unconsolidated or poorly consolidated subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore an aqueous pumpable system comprising an insoluble silica source (e.g., colloidal silica, silica fume or fumed silica) and a source of calcium hydroxide (e.g., aqueous solutions of calcium chloride and sodium hydroxide). The aqueous system may contain a nucleation inhibitor. The components of the aqueous system react to produce a calcium silicate hydrate gel (C-S-H gel) having cementitious properties within the pores of the formation. After the C-S-H gel sets and hardens, the consolidated formation has a high compressive strength (e.g., 500 psi (about 3.5 MPa) or more). The technique can be performed as a remedial treatment or in new completions, but it is particularly useful in workover treatments for existing wells.

摘要: A method is provided for treating a subterranean formation penetrated by a well bore comprising the steps of: a) forming a phosphate ester gelled hydrocarbon fracturing fluid comprising a liquid hydrocarbon and a an alkyl phosphate gelling agent; b) adding said fluid a delayed gel breaker, c) injecting said fluid down a well, and d) allowing said breaker to break the fracturing fluid gel after an initial delay period and destabilize a metal crosslink in said gel, reducing the volatile phosphorous present in the fluid by at least about 25%.
